Mark Schlereth was a 12 year VG OG for Wash and Denver. He was on NFL Live yesterday and believes Denver will not keep Franklin because Kubiak is bringing a ZBS to Denver and he does not fit. He called Franklin a "telephone booth" blocker, who does not have the speed and ability to move in a ZBS.

I had though differently but, hard to argue with him.

stink is retarded. I listen to him all the time and it seems like half the time he has no idea what the heck he is talking about

Are you saying the same on his analysis for a player on his former team, who he follows closely at a position he played very well for 12 years?

Could not disagree more with him. Not the first time.

Schlereth is talking out of his ass. Franklin is plenty athletic enough to play G or fill in at RT in the ZBS. He will probably not be resigned in Denver because they cannot afford to keep him with all their other pending FA signings.

Denver has been running a combo ZBS/MBS for a long time....this is nothing new.

Franklin has no problem in a ZBS.....his weakness is trapblocking.

maybe he got paid by elway to say that to lower his value to resign, i dont care what he says we need him on our line he is easily an upgrade on many teams at OG esp. our sorry as$ escuse for interior line

Where does he say Franklin doesn't fit the offense? They need a new LG because they can't afford their previous one and sign their other FAs. It says nothing about Franklin not being a fit.

He does not mention Franklin or any other guy on the OL. It is subject to interpretation.

i thought Denver still used zone blocking schemes within their offense

Just because he played in the nfl doesn't mean he automatically knows what he's talking about
