Oronde Gadsden

He was my favorite WR, until Chambers joined Miami. He was second only to Chambers with making amazing catches. Two sweet plays in the Tenessee opener, which miami won.

youtube is great
I don't think anyone can match that one handed finger tip Orande pulled of. That was the greatest catch I have ever seen. OJ was always my Fav but I don't know if I could say I liked and one more than the other. Clayton,Duper, O.J. Chris and Orande have gave me great memories and played their heart out. The others was before my time like Warfeild and others so I mean no disrespect to them.

During the hayday, it was Clayton. I think he was consistently better than Duper and Marino's go to guy. However, as they got older, Clayton's skills diminished a little faster and Duper picked up the slack and played longer and at a higher level. Oj was phenomenal. He never seemed to blow dbs away, but he would manage to make catches with defenders between him and the ball more than any reciever I had seen. Orande was cool. Big guy, incredible hands, and I jsut trusted him out there. Howver, I dont think it was until Chambers that we had real threat since McDuffie.

I started watching Miami in 1982, when I was 6 years old. If I attempt to separate our "best" receiviers from my "favorite" receivers, here's my list of the 5 "best" receivers since 1982 are:

1. Clayton
2. Duper
3. McDuffie
4. Nat Moore
5. Chambers

Gadsden was good, but he was never "the man" like the guys above were.

what happened to oronde such a great wide receiver he was he just dissapeared or what happened?

What I loved about gadsden is that he made the most spectacular catches, only second to Chambers. On top of that, he was clutch. He made so many big catches when Miami needed a TD or a first down, and many of them were circus catches that he shouldn't have had to do, but Fiedler's sloppy passes made him have to make great adjustments. He was slow, and not a threat like the other Miami receivers, but he made so many great plays for Miami when needed most. He played a season with marino I believe, and I think he had a huge catch in Marino's comeback against Peyton manning and the colts.

He wanted a contrtact renegotietion and we wouldn't give it to him so he walked away. I thought he deserved it personnally. His and OJ's carreers was cut short because of our pathetic QB's getting them killed every play but they always made the catch. I will always respect them for their heart and determination.

I liked Gadsden until he used an injury for a bigger contract. Not only that he didn't get close to the contract that he wanted signed for minimum with Miami and not only came back overweight and out of shape but with an attitude.

Yeah, its a shame he went out on kind of a sour note. Still liked him as a player.

I have to disagree with u on most everything u said.Duper droped off before Clayton did and the only OJ that i no that was phenomenal was OJ Simpson.OJ McDuffie only had 1 really good year with us and he was Marino's goto guy for acouple of years. The only reason why u remember him being any good was cuz Marino had no one else to throw the ball to.McDuffie droped lots of good passes.I only remember this cuz it use to make me so mad.

i want to see a vid of the redskins game when we wore orange jerseys...... Oronde made his mini-comeback that week ... I'll never forget his and the crowds reaction to him making a reception for the 1st time in what seemed like ages. I loved it.

Clutch reciever

Orande had the knack of always making the big catch when needed, he would never drop the big pass.:dolphins:

Gadsden played with Marino in 1998 and 1999.....and the huge catch you mentioned came in the 1999 game at Indy. That was a great game.
