Looks like even if a miracle happens and Shamrock beats Ortiz in a couple weeks, that on December 30th it will be Tito vs Chuck II.

The fight is so big UFC is holding it at the MGM grand, the biggest arena they run. And they expect it to break all PPV buy rate records for their company.

Ah, I see. I hadn't heard anything more about that after the initial announcement. Didn't he get KO'd recently in a PRIDE fight?

I wouldnt blame that whole fiasco on Dana, Pride is just as much at fault, if not more...Its en vogue to hate Dana White and blame everything that goes wrong in the business on him, but I believe that Pride just used that oppurtunity to get some US PPV face time for their upcoming show in Vegas...I dont think they ever had any intention of allowing Wanderlei to fight in the UFC...

This is good news. Chuck is still favored, but Ortiz took their last fight I think way too personal and didn't show much of a game plan. Also, Ortiz kinda refused to do what he does best last time: ground and pound. Maybe this time he'll go back to what he knows best.

Still think Chuck wins by knockout or referee stoppage.

Im not saying you hate Dana, but 90% of the internet does, so most of the info out has an anti Dana stance...No one really knows why the deal fell through, their are obviously 2 stories, I just tend to believe that Pride pulled out.

Pride lost their Tv deal in Japan because of reported dealing with the Yakuza. They have a PPV in Vegas in December, I dont think it will do very well, and if it isnt successful, I have a feeling we will start seeing a downward spiral....

There should be only one such MMA organization for elite fighters anyway. It's frustrating not to know who the "real" world champion is (though the only main area of contention is light heavyweight, the other weight classes we most probably know).

I am surprised at the date on this. That date is in the middle of the New Year's weekend, which means that anybody who wants to attend that fight has to get their on Friday and pay for their hotel through New Year's Day.

i agree he wouldn't be ready but losing to cro cop does nothing to diminish the fight. cro cop is a heavyweight and would do the same thing to chuck.
