Orton for a 5th?

This is dolphins trade proposal to denver now.

No this is just Schefter's speculation once again.

He throws out all these stupid trade ideas hoping that one of them sticks. You have to realize that Schefter was a Bronco's beat reporter here in Colorado for the Denver Post. Just about every afternoon, Schefter calls in to Denver's 850 KOA radio station in Denver to talk with Dave Logan, the Broncos play-by-play man and radio host in the afternoon. Denver wanted to offload Orton before the season started so they didn't have to pay Orton a $9 million bonus. When the trade talks fell through they were forced to play Orton. Now that Denver is 1-4 and the fans are booing, they switch to Tebow. Why should we take a crappy QB off their hands now?

Why on earth would we take a hit on all his salary for a huge ??? at QB. He couldn't improve Den enough to get them wins. If he comes here, he has several weeks before he really learns the basics of our offense. Then by the second half of the season, he might be slightly better than Henne would have been and win just enough picks to take us out of contention for any decent QB in next year's draft and possibly put questions into the FO's mind on whether we have our franchise QB. Maybe even saving the FO's jobs. Thus setting us back for another 2-3 years. Not to mention Denver got to stick it to us before the season started and then still get a decent draft pick out of us after finding out he was their QB. NO THANK YOU! If Ross allows this to happen, then it's crystal clear he has no interest in ever trying to reach a SB in our lifetime.

I dont understand why Adam thinks we should trade for him?
Schefter is butthurt because he was the guy who kept saying the Dolphins were going to trade for Orton before the season.

But whatever, screw that idea. It's a stupid idea.

PS, quit running with rumors like they are facts.

No we swapped 6th rounders with them..

and gave them Jonathan Amaya..

That was it...
You are right, for the moment I forgot the the swapped picks part. Though I think the rumor was still a 4th round from the Fins(with Amaya) for the Saints 6th round pick and Bush.

That's what I thought it was as well.

In the off-season this is what I said would be the most I would give up for him, now, I think they should give Miami a 5th to take that salary off their hands.

We have to save our picks...what happens if we finish with the 2nd worst record behind a team like St. Louis, that has Bradford as their franchise QB? The Rams would likely entertain offers from us or others to trade up for Luck, but we probably would have to fork over our first five picks to move up one spot.

Well if somehow the Rams got Stafford they would probably be willing to hook us up with Bradford.

Let me nip this in the bud before this goes to far. I assume you saw this on ESPN in the segment with Adam Schefter. If so, this thread is not entirely accurate. This is not the Dolphins offer, this is what Adam Schefter THINKS the Dolphins should offer. The segment was "What trades should happen before the deadline". Schefter proposed the Dolphins trade a 5th for Orton. He also proposed that the Bills trade for Reggie Wayne. Realistically there are probably no talks going on between the Dolphins and Broncos.

Thanks for the clarification, I caught the end of the segment.
