OT: Duct Tape on Football Jersey?

i need to tape over the word surtain on my jersey... ha ha but good thing i have my authentic zach...thank god he isnt going anywhere...

At the mall here they have a guy who runs an upholstery and screen name shop.....he could take Surtain off and make you a sewn on name that looks
identical to what the Phins use. I had to do that with an old uni.

thats sweet. i would do that and put the guys name on it that will be wearing pats number.

Dude, duct tape holds old 400 pound bumpers together on old clunky crappy American cars, used to repaid army vehicles in WW2. It is strong enough to replace nuts and blots and hold a refrigerator door in place. You then ask a question if it will hurt a soft, plastic type fabric?

Try masking tape, or moving tape some other wimpy tape.

duct tape is fine. masking tape will peel right off. warm the jersey up in the dryer before removing tape. it will peel right off. or you can freeze it and it will peel right off also. duct tape is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but do you really think it's preferable to have a bunch of tape on your back as opposed to the name Surtain?

surtain was good to us, i'd still wear his jersey if i had it.

The screen shop is a great idea. Get a name strip that says Brown and you're good to go.

But any dry cleaner or upholstery type shop that does alterations could probably solve your problem very inexpensively. You can just get a strip of cloth that matches the color of your jersey and they'll sew it on over the name. It probably won't even cost you much more than the tape.

Its pretty ironic considering that we basically had to let Surtain go in order to pay for a number 2 overall draft choice and now Ronnie has the same number...

Duct tape fine? get a little sun on your back or heat up masking tape in the dryer and it will make the glue softer and stick to the shirt even worse!
