OT Marcus Spears...

He used to be good, but released by the Browns who need depth behind Ross Verba? That's not a good sign...

I thought Ross Verba was also released by the browns a few weeks ago?
 
we have too many lineman as it is... dont worry we dont need any more guys now on the line unless we get hit with an injury bug, but hopefully that wont happen *knocks on wood*
 
I haven't been following my football then...

It's baseball season that's why I guess. If Verba was released and Spears was not kept that doesn't really say much of his abilities then.

Yes verba was released after cleveland signed L.J. shelton

We had a lot of lineman last year too. problem was we didn't have that many good lineman. i think his question was do you think spears is better than any lineman we currently have.

...as for Spears....I don't think he'd be an ugrade right now as a backup\swing tackle over what we already have.

Even though Jaj didn't realize that Verba was cut he still has a point in that Cleveland does need depth behind their tackles.

I don't think we sign him (which mean we likely will :rolleyes: ) :)

No, i just thought i heard that verba was released and i wasn't sure my comment wasn't based on Jaj not knowing Verba was released.
 
Hahahahaha...this guy was just on NFL Network last week subbing for Woodson, Kennedy, et al. He was talking about starting camp this week and getting things going.

Why? We have Carey and McDougal - 2 young BIG tackles. Hopefully if McDougal works out we can lock him up for a few years and we'd be all set for awhile at tackle. DMac is the swing tackle with Alabi the rook as a future tackle. I don't see us needing any more tackles unless they are better and Spears definitely isn't better.
 
No we don't need him. We already have some young talent and we need to see what they got first.

I think we misunderstood eachother.

The only comment I was actually responding to from your post was the "true". I was agreeing with you on the fact that Verba was cut....the rest of the post was just an ingeneral response to the orginal question...sorry if I was confusing by responding to your post, my mistake.
