It's still OTA's, don't draw conclusions on starters yet. We want the rookies playing between veterans right now to help them learn how to play. The staff wants to get the players some reps at other positions to begin building positional flexibility.
We need o see the fringe players play to see whether they can compete for practice squad spots. Everyone is in a new offense and needs reps.
We are still on the steep part of the learning curve and haven't even installed the full offense yet. This is still like the first day of school ... all we know is which locker belongs to whom ... for now.
Dallas Thomas is a veteran. He still needs reps because he didn't earn enough last year. Turner isn't and shouldn't be given a starting spot. He is raw and has to absorb a Niagara Falls flow of information and it's got to be overwhelming for him at this point and with this tempo.
Once we are a few weeks into training camp with most of the offense installed and repeatedly practiced with pads on, THEN we will have an idea whether Turner has a shot at LG this year.
