most encouraging thing i can take away from 3 weeks of otas other than the tempo on offense picking up and the movement of skill position players and tight ends late is the news that provided omar is accurate (for once) cortland finnegan looks like a comfortable fit as the #2 corner...in this setting if finnegan had truly lost a step it should be very obvious his game is all about physical play and in your face play that's not ideal for a helmet and shorts setting it's encouraging that at least to those in attendance there has been no talk of fall off...the other encouraging development at corner seems to be the play of jamar taylor...sounds like he's ready to handle a top 4 corner job in our d...he should show better in pads when his quick acceleration long speed and physical strength can be more apparent...all of which are plus assets i feel much better right now about the state of the corner play in the top 4...grimes finnegan taylor and wilson should he win the nickle job look like the obvious top 4 choices to me i was not and still am not comfortable with will davis assuming a role i have seen pictures of him in otas body looks the same to me i dont see any weight gain or muscle growth but i guess he could have gotten stronger for his size he sure better have...if you see him losing physically to small slot wr types in space in close contact come preseason should be very telling... i don't think there's much more than a specials plan for walt aikens in this defense right now...games very raw looks best in press flat footed and squatting in off coverage...i guess we will see come camp but i'm not betting on much impact...need our top 3 corners to stay healthy this year...can probably afford one injury in the top 4 don't want to depend on davis or aikens...davis may have a fight on his hands for the last corner job with this jalil brown character...but his size if he's who i recall is more suited to play inside and we have multiple options there already... not surprised more movement means more looks for wallace thus far harder to bracket tannehill is a presnap and coverage based decision maker when it comes to where the ball goes...last year presnap a lot of times the coverage dictated tannehill to go away from wallace side from the get go by moving him around more there should be more favorable pre and post snap as far as where wallace is on the progression and he should see more opportunities...plus a good oc should be able to design ways to get the ball to him with play design and formation heavy 2 tight end sets evidently...more and more sounds like 4 tight ends will make this 53...just for the scheme need alone...take out the actual lack of real talent at the position... i keyed jordan tripps work at mike in the senior bowl game...actually it looked pretty solid...still all post snap reactionary stuff but he was assignment sound and he attacked the ball...i feel pretty confident he's the backup mike backer assuming this misi thing sticks come the regular season...trusnick getting looks at mike is a funny joke...doubt tripp stays out of the 2 deep long... another ota another cam wake blowing things up protection wise...if dallas thomas is in fact locking down left guard and miami feels like shelley is the guy at right guard this team needs to cross train billy turner at tackle...can't say it enough...this kid can play in space watched him get beat initially on the edge senior bowl week one time in the game and it was his great quick feet and lateral quickness that allowed him to recover and wash the rusher out...he's raw but imo while there will be some growing pains he's the best in house tackle option this team has depth wise...
