Having a first day pick from another team during the season is always fun. In addition to following the Dolphins and our opponents, it gives us one more team to have rooting interest against.

Last night's loss by Washington is a nice start. Hopefully, how horrible they looked is a sign of things to come.

If the season ended today:), that pick would be the first in the second round, 33rd overall.

There's no chance in hell the Redskins finish the season in last place. I would say the Skins are at worst a 6 to 7 win team, at best a 10 win team. Miami is looking at mabye the 43rd to 53rd best player in the nation next year from the JT trade. IMO, not bad when you consider what we gave up to get him, what he produced while he was a Dolphin and what we got for him in trade after 10 years of service. Even if JT has a probowl season Miami still did very, very well all things considered.

I had the same thought in my mind watching the Redskins last night.

It is nice that for the third straight draft, we will have two 2nd rounds. Having six second round picks in three years will go along way to restoring this franchise.

The best thing about this upcoming extra 2nd round pick is that Washington is not near as good as the 2006 Patriots or the 2007 Chargers. Sure we were able to land a very good center with the Pats pick(Satele) and likely the QB of the future with the Chargers pick(Henne), but with the Redskins pick it increases our odds the higher it is.

We had #60 from the Pats, and #57 from the Chargers. With the Redskins we could possibly see a jump of 10-15 spots putting us around #40-45.

With Jason Taylors age, and the fact that he hasn't looked like his dominate 2006 self lately(2007 season and last night) I think we made out like bandits. Plus, next season we can still root against the Redskins so it increases our value of that extra 6th round pick we got in the Taylor trade.

With the way the Redskins look

The Redskins look so pathetic last night we might be drafting in the top 5 or 6 in the second round! I hope they continue to choke it up all year so that the pick we got from them for Jason Taylor is in the top 5.

Lets wait to see our team play before we start assuming other teams are worse.

I did see potential in them. Don't get me wrong I do hope they suck it up this year.

But I think the coaching was pretty bad. There comes a time when the offense has to start to abandon the run. I could clearly see they were scared to throw the ball on offense.

If they continue that trend we will most definatly be drafting early in the 2nd round.

I had a good laugh at JTs expense during the Giants game. He made a stink and went to a potentially worse team than he was on. That's what you get when you act like a douche.

He got absolutely dominated in the run game, got tossed around like a ragdoll. Teams are going to run at him alot more after tape of last night.

So what else is new? lol

He's pathetic against the run.....weak as water....

BTW....did you see Laron Landry get runover by Jacobs? He looked like he got knocked unconcious for a second....LMAO!!

As for the pick? Way too early to tell....but maybe a cornerback like UCF's Joe Burnette....I like him....

hey come on now. JS says JT plays the run fine. who am I to argue? lol. JT looked even smaller than usual to me, and its clear he has no interest in playing the run. ya, that was a crazy hit Landry took. is it USC/Ohio ST next week? man, Joe McKnight is Reggie Bush the 2nd. its crazy how similar they run. what do you think of Patrick Turner as a later round guy? I dont think hes even starting this year, but he moves well for 6'5 225.

Maybe as a late round pick....only because he's big....but that's it.

He doesn't impress me at all....slow...no suddeness....he'll get eat up in the pro's just like Mike Williams IMO.

I actually like Vidal Hazelton much better as far as pro potential...although he's an underclassman.
