Reports are - Fry played just as well as Kalil during Senior bowl week.. He was just as impressive as Kalil there .. Read here -

It also says he may be even better than Kalil for different systems (ie - Houck like bigger centers because we don't run a zone blocking scheme as Kalil may be better suited for) ..

If we get this guy, and he really is as good as (or close to) Kalil's abilities , we may solve two spots in the O-line with Hadnot moving to guard (where is is better suited) .

Left tackle- ??? - Still up in the air
Left Guard- Hadnot
Center- Fry
Right Guard- LJ Shelton
Right Tackle- Carey

* The right side was very good when they moved Shelton to RG at around the Chicago game , I wouldn't touch that side as familiarity on the O-line is essential.. We need all the familiarity we can get on the o-line as it's just not a very good unit as of now.. Or not a complete unit anyways..

Fry may be a guy to look out for, as he may just be a steal outside of the first couple of rounds.. Olin Kreutz was also drafted in the 3rd round if I remember ..

I truly think Fry would be a better pick than Satele and others at center.. Look what they said about him in that link in my previous post.. He should be on Houck's radar first and foremost for the interior of the line.

Id rather take Kalil in round #2.

First 3 picks
Brown
Stanton
Kalil

If we're going to take a C in the 3rd or 4th - gimme Doug Datish. Ohio State has produced some pretty good C's: Mangold, Stepanovich, Bentley etc.

They have Fry as the 3rd best center and Datish down the list at 5th .. Datish had alot of problems with protection.. Maybe Fry is more ready now ?

Pass on FRY: HERE'S SENIOR BOWL observations from NFL countdown.

Centers: Last year Nick Mangold was one of the stars of the Senior Bowl and went on to become a first round pick and Ryan Kalil of USC might just duplicate that feat after the outstanding week he had in Mobile. Doug Datish of Ohio St. saw time at a number of positions and the versatility he showed should held him when April rolls around. Samson Satele of Hawaii held his own and even though he wasn't a standout he really didn't hurt himself either while Dan Mozes of West Virginia had some struggles and looks like a late round pick. Dustin Fry of Clemson really had trouble and looked like just another guy while Leroy Harris of N.C. State got hurt early and did not do much.</B>

From what I've read, Frye has been overweight. Datish has played both LT and C, which is what Houck has seemed to look for, versatility. I think Datish will do just fine.

Alabi's the LT....
Unless we take Brown or Staley at #9... i think AA may get his shot.
in Houck we trust brother.... I'm sure working with Cam, we'll get his best results.
