Most of all these coaches have been with SB teams or successful teams..they all seem to have strong resumes...except for the DC..who's never been a DC...what do you guys think of this new staff?

I agree with you, their track record is pretty impressive, but then again, it takes that mesh of coaching and talent/playmakers to combine to make it to the playoff's and super bowl, so if we're able to spend wisely on the right people in free agency and bring in a nice group of rookies, especially with the first few top draft picks, and we'll see what this coaching staff can do with them. The bottom line for us is about winning and hopefully they can justify their impressive resume's with yet another successful showing on the field.

If you look on the bottom line on ESPN NEWS...

You'll see that we indeed hired both Bowles and Dorrell.

Official Folks!

COACHES ARE OVERRATED...this team needs player-talent .. we could get vince lombardi and don shula coaching this team and they wouldnt be able to have any success bc as parcells said it himself, this roster has no talent

I'm hoping against hope that we hire Frank Gansz jr he was fired by the Ravens and he is one of the best ST Coaches in the NFL.

That said, the old Giants ST Coach is rumoured to be in the running for the job.

Mike Sweatman retired recently:

East Rutherford, NJ -- (Sports Network) - New York Giants special teams coordinator Mike Sweatman announced his retirement Tuesday. He was previously a Giants assistant from 1985-92, when the team won a pair of Super Bowls, and returned in 2004 when head coach Tom Coughlin took over and hired him to run the special teams. He was voted the NFL's special teams coach of the year in 2005.

DEAD WRONG, without proper coaching all that talent is worthless.. and With good coaching limited talent can become much more impressive.

Just like school teachers you get someone who just goes through the motions and your not going to improve. Give them someone creative, involved and caring and they will grow in body and mind...

Coaching makes a huge difference..

I totally agree and that why the Pats are the Pats with plenty of old retread Dolphins on their squad!

Not true at all- and 'm not going to spend time watching a team that doesn't give **** about the outcome of the game.

Good coaching also correlates with motivation, Cam Cameron was a nerd. No connection with his players at all.

His decision to split carries with Ronnie was a huge reason why we lost.

LOL....

I have some beach property I'd like to sell you in South Dakota.

Good coaches can get more out of lesser players, and with a mixture of some good players and the average players you can have a pretty good team. We don't have that mixture right now. If they bring in some good players through FA and the draft, things could turn around faster than what we expect it to.

That has to be one of the most ignorant comments I've ever seen posted on FH. :err:

Great coaches can help good players become great players and average players become good players. Coaches need to get every player to play above their ability. Get everyone to overachieve.

isnt there a coach named terry o'shea or of the like...he was hired last season...was he let go already?
