I thought it was a bad move then and we are still regreting it. We should have never gotten rid of O-Gun. He is a young superstar. We could have kept him and still gotten another 2 teir reciever with the same capabilites as Booker through free agency.

Uh, no, I doubt they are regretting getting rid of Ogunleye. He's had one good game for the Bears, and has been fairly mediocre otherwise...When he has even been on the field.

Ogunleye wouldnt even really fit this defense. Saban doesnt seem to be the kind of coach who wants two bigger, pass rushing OLB's when he runs the 3-4 or like defenses.

He said he would sit out ten games if we didn't pay him more money. I don't think he was worth the money and a pro-bowl receiver plus a first day pick sounds a lot better than a roster space sitting on the bench.

we weren't so much looking for Booker as we were getting "something" for O-gun, who we could not afford.

As one of probably about 100 anywhere owning an Ogun Dolphins Jersey, My opinion is biased, but being in the 3-4 now if we were to like him up with Carter, it would be amazing.

We got rid of him to Keep Chambers I remind everyone. Chambers was supposed to be our #1 reciever. So far he has yet to act like one.

Jason Taylor made him look so good that year. But he would be nice to have for his talent but I can't stand players who say they will sit out if we don't pay him more. I don't let my daughter get away with it when she says she won't clean her room. So why should a guy who is making more $$ then he ever thought he would make get away with it??

Wouldent he play end in the 3-4? I have wondered how he would fit into this new D. He might have been prety good but I still dont think he was as good as his stats here made him look. When you are playing across from JT who is being doubled on almost every play you are going to have a chance to get some sacks.

He has more sacks than anyone on our team. He is still a very young player and extremely fast. Yes he wanted a big contract but we may have been able to work something out if we had a GM who actually knew what he was doing. Im not saying our current D line is inept to making big plays. I like all the players on the D line and I think they are doing a very good job. Im just saying maybe we could be better if we still has him

Yup, if he were here now he would be in JTs old spot.

I dont know, I heard that in Chicago they tried to move him to play over the LT but it didnt work very well. I think they moved him back to the other side and concluded that it was his "natural" position. Can anyone confirm that? I dont remeber where I read it.

No, Ogunleye is too small to play 3-4 end. 3-4 DEs are pretty much 300 pounds, give or take. Look at Kevin Carter(6'6" 305), Vonnie Holliday(6'5" 295), Kevin Vickerson(6'5" 305), Manuel Wright(6'6" 315). Not to mention we were reportedly interested in Trevor Pryce(6'5" 295) when it seemed like he was not staying with the Broncos.

Ogunleye would play 3-4 OLB, where alot of smaller 4-3 DEs in the 250-260 pound range typically shift to.

We wouldnt really have room for him in our defense, because Saban likes to shift from a 4-3 to 3-4. To do that, you've got to have two-way personnel. Neither Taylor nor Ogunleye are real good fits to play 4-3 linebacker, so that isnt really a good fit. Some 3-4 Defenses seem to like playing 2 smaller DE's at linebacker as opposed to a DE/regular linebacker, but Saban doesnt seem to be one of those coaches.

All I've seen was him being in the same place he was with us, though I dont follow da bears so I could be wrong.

Your right he is only listed at 260. For some reason I thought he was a lot biger.

Well I guess I can answer my own question. I am watching the Bears game in the background and ogun is lined up over the right tackle.
