Besides just having a complete LACK of talent on our OLine for years now . . . I think maybe our worst defense in years results in Poor OLine play this year. Let me explain . . . . this OLine of ours faces our defense every day in practice. Our OLine's main problem is protecting against the blitz . . . . unless you are blind u know that our defense is down right pathetic when they try to blitz. I mean Gado was manhandling our LB's on Sunday, and just the whole year we haven't did anything except leave our WEAK secondary in a even worse position. Imagine our defense against our OLine . . . Ronnie and McMike also in protection . . . I actually imagine our OLine winning this battle the way the defense has looked this year on the blitz. Iono man, all I keep hearing is Pep . . .OLine . . . but man this defense needs major work as well. How can we protect against the blitz in a real game, when we probably aren't getting good enough preparation in practice.

This is just a theory, I don't even believe it . . . but its a possibilty. We are NOT a good team right now, and thats the team as a whole.

Dude, I'm not worried about the the D-line what-so-ever....KC, JT, ZT, Truck, etc....these are all quailty players... In saying that, I agree that we have been getting the worst of the blitz lately....If your gona blitz, you gota get to the QB, or your gona pay....so they do have to step it up....But to say that our O-line gets the better of them in practice is a little far fetched....As I keep saying, When the O-line tightens up, the entire team will play better.

That's true to an extent but i find it very hard to blame the defense for most of our problems. Regardless of the defense not being what we thought it would be the O-line should want to get better on it's own. Hudson Houck should have had these guys blasting people off of the line clearing holes for Ronnie. The defense was good for years and the O-line never really got any better. Ricky Williams made the line look really good when he led the leauge in rushing.

Not necessarily the OLine getting the better of our defense. But with so many problems that we have on the blitz . . . it would be nice for this line to see a GOOD blitzing team in practice . . . like we once were. I mean if our D is anywhere as ineffective in practice as they are in the real games . . . I bet CUlpepper has more time against our D than some of the D's we have faced. Its not to single out our D, but to prove that this team has problems everywhere and that includes the D.

Isn't The Dolphins Defense rated almost, if not top 5 in the league, its not practicing against a bad line. They are on the field way too much, any defense would be tired. The only person Gado was manhandling on sunday was Zach because he is too small to be sent on the blitz. Send Crowder who is big and strong enough to get through backs and tall enough to get his hands up and disrupt the pass. Zach is a sideline to sideline run stopper not a blitzer.

They need to stop blitzing Thomas and start lining up Bell in the nickel and have him blitz. He has been able to get some good pressure on the QB in a number of games. Hell, why can't Bell be a LB in the 3-4? I know he is small and probably can't shed blockers very well in running situations, but what about on 2nd and long and 3rd downs.

the front four is awesome, maybe tops in the league, our linebackers outside of spragan are very good daniels/allen are good our FS suck bell should start over tillman anyday

the defense is giving up big plays mostly in the second half, usually because we throw 90 percent of the time and the defense is always on the field

our oline is pretty pathetic

also on defense we are trying to use players in roles that arent what they do best, like having jason try to cover or zach trying to blitz a lot

jason should be getting at the qb every down and zach is a run stopper who is very good at going into coverage

what is so wrong with our defense? we're only allowing an average of 17.8 points per game...our actually defense is allowing just 15.3 points per game if you dont count jerry porter's INT return and the blocked punt that led to a FG. it is the offense that is not getting it done.

true the d is getting worn out from the offense not getting done, and from throwing the ball 90% of the time

also having zach blitz all the time is not what he is good at, he is good at stopping the run and covering

This thread is not about bashing the defense . . . but I must point out . . . if u don't think nothing is wrong with this defense, than u are not paying attention to them at all. Yea they are on the field alot . . . I completely understand . . . but the secondary is WEAK . . . and our blitz is WEAK. and we tend to give up the big run in key moments of the ball game. We have been bending all year . . . and haven't really broken yet, but look at the people we played, Not exactly the NFL's finest . . . and honestly those type of teams we don't need to be giving up 16 or 17 points to, outside of the offense turning the ball over from 20 yards in.

All I'm saying is . . . . would this OLine and even CPep be more effective if they saw a better blitzing team in practice since its obvious thats the main problem that this Line has (picking up the blitz).
