Are we set here? Wake, Williams, Fede and are they (gasp) counting on Jordan? Are those four enough?

I think they add from the draft, not round one but a day 2 pick, draft is pretty deep at the position.

I think people around here are sleeping on Fede a bit. Really like the kid's potential.

That being said, we had better not be set at this point.

No we arent set, d end should be one of our 1-3 picks. We need to get younger reguardless with wake and williams so now is the time to groom. Hope wake comes to his senses and sheds a million or two off his contract. We'll probably only use him on third downs and passing situations, which 9.5 million is a lot for a situational passer.

Problem with this line of thinking is: Does Wake see himself as a situational player? I kinda doubt it.

I think you still need someone to take some snaps away from Wake, especially early downs and early in the game. Granted the guy is a machine, but he will benefit from it by being fresher in the 3rd and 4th.

I expect us to pick up a tier 2 or tier 3 free agent to serve as a backup at DE. we have a couple of youngsters I'm curious to see more of. Which I think we will because Wake is no longer a 3 down player.

Of course with all the compensatory pics we get I expect us to add to the mix.

If our coaches are worth their salt we'll have developed players to take over in a few years.

yeah we should be getting quite a few comp picks next season for the first time ever. Vernon, Miller, Matthews, and Shelby all got big deals.

True lol i think he can still be an every down player though, just seems like miami wants to keep him as a situational player. If theres one guy i wouldnt bet against, its cameron wake. The guy is a freak and keeps his body in perfect condition.

I agree, but does he? If he still sees himself as a full time guy, he's less likely to agree to a "situational" paycut.

It just seems as if the herd mentality around here assumes that Wake agrees with our assessment, and should be fine with it. :idk:

Same damn thing every year. We need linebackers more desperately imo. Not DEs but linebackers.

Expect some attention here . . . Missed out on Hayes yesterday, was probably our biggest blow of the day.

Need an early down DE opposite Williams.

Misi/Alonso/Jenkins

Hewitt/Vigil/Paysinger

Plus draft and lesser FA's

If you think you nabbed a future at MLB in Alonso, we are improved, still will add via draft and wave 2/3 of FA, but it is not mission critical anymore. Save that for Guard, swing tackle, CB and early down DE.
