Ok, this now the second worse season our beloved fins have played in over over twenty years. Its that simple. I believe its only the 2nd time since the early 80's that we've had a losing record. 2004 being the first.
EDIT thanks to dolfanmark:
And for the record, we had losing seasons in 2004, 1988, and 1976. Those are our only losing records since 1969.
One thing i want to look at is Injuries. This is something i found to be interesting. Especailly on offense. Let's look how many different players have started at some positions.

QB-This ones pretty obvious. 3 different players.
Daunte Culpepper (IR)
Joey Harrington
Cleo Lemon

RB-Two different players.
Ronnie Brown
Sammy Morris

WR-I'm not positive here, but i'm pretty sure 4 guys have started this season.
Marty Booker
Chris Chambers
Derek Hagan
Wes Welker

LT-2 players
L.J. Shelton
Damion Macintosh

LG-2...3? im not sure
Jeno James (IR)
Kendyll Jacox

C-1 player
Hadnot. one of the two only positions that had the same player start all season...

RG-5 players?
Bennie Anderson (Cut)
L.J. Shelton
Seth Mckinney (IR)
Joe Toledo (IR)
Damion Macintosh

RT-1 player
Vernon Carey...thank the lord he became a solid player for us.

Look at those injuries piled up. Thats over 20 different starters altogether, for an 11 man unit. Now Mularkey gets pretty much all heat for this unit. And he deserves a lot of it, but its hard to win within continuity. How many teams can we think of that only 1 guy start...at almost every position on the field, all season long. We've only had two guys play all 16 games on our offense. 2.

Its hard to put up points when it seems like theres different guys running, catching, and blocking every different game. Theres no way to really prevent injuries, but man did we have a lot of them. Especially along the offensive line. I think if the injuries can be kept in check, then theres a lot of talent on this offense.

What i'm saying is, it's not fair to judge the individuals on this team, because football is a team sport. There has to be consistency amongst the starters in order for them to get comfortable with each other. Sadly it just never happened this year.

You forgot that Damian McIntosh started a game at RG.

Nobody had more injuries than the Seahawks and Eagles, yet they are both playoff teams. I don't buy the excuses anymore.
Saban made poor offseason decisions and did not have this team ready to play until the 2nd month of the season.

They BOTH play in the NFC...im not sure either of them makes the playoffs in the AFC...
