Our new coach should be...

If Philbin doesn't make it, I like Gruden or Vick Fangio the DC from the 49'ers. I'm sure I spelled that wrong

The Seahawks are currently 2nd in the NFL in rushing attempts per game (a very important stat) and 4th in the NFL in points per game - despite their O-line suffering multiple injuries throughout the first portion of the season.

I think Bevell sounds like a very promising option.

If the idea was really to get names thrown out there and discuss "why or why not", just say so from jump street, for the love of Christ. Your initial post seemed to be anything but inviting actual discussion and participation. Really, it was just you championing one person and acting like it is the only way to go. Did it really warrant its own thread?

Sorry man... sheesh. I just kind of went off the top of my head cuz I was WASTED!!!! Celebrating the win. I just don't like Joe. I loved him at first but all this stuff going on lately exposed a lot of crap in the air

My issue isn't with Phlbin....it's more with Sherman and Ireland. Philbin can only play what he has to work with. Get better players with a real GM, and a better OC, and Philbin will be fine.

I just don't see the same thing. Their offense is based around a power running game. They have perfect personnel for that. Fine. Their passing game is essentially one read then let Wilson create by running around. Even with plenty of skill guys there's no progression of reads. Either Wilson finds someone after he extends the play or he runs for yards. That's an offense half a step from drawing it up as you go. I'd rather keep Philbin and roll the dice on a fresh look guy like Frost from Or., Mike Gundy of OSU, or Philip Montgomery from Baylor. All three of those guys run shows which generate matchup problems, find creases in the defense, and get yardage in chunks.

Jay Gruden, the guy leading the Cinn offense to nowhere? If it weren't for AJ Green they'd have nothing. He can't find a way to get Eifert involved when they have no other targets. Gruden, Bevel, useless.

He runs a very effective offense with no QB.

That's ridiculous. Dalton is just fine. He wasn't their saviour as a rookie or last year then forget how to play this year. In fact his decline is as much an indictment of Gruden as anything else. There are more skill players there now but the offense is even more inconsistent? It ain't just the QB.

I disagree. Dalton is what he always has been. The fact that Gruden got from him what he did is a testament to the kind of coach he is. In fact, if you look at Gruden's resume, everything he touches football-wise seems to turn to gold. I definitely want in on that action.

We should try to get Nick Saban at Univ. of Alabama!? They hardly ever lose and they always play great defense! :chuckle:
