our new weapon

Wow, let's keep building up this guy before he's even taken a single snap. Any more future Hall of Famers we can compare him to? How about saving a spot for him on the stadium honor roll right now? Reminds me of all the threads written about Saban way back when-- how he was the best coach in the division, how he was a lock for the Hall, etc...

The chances are much greater that his career resembles Ronnie Brown's than Tomlinson's. But at least we didn't spend the #2 overall pick on him.

Miller has plenty of weaknesses. He's the type who fools you into thinking he's an ultra special player on one play, then can be maddeningly disappointing on the next. Can look terrible in short yardage. Al Golden late last season emphasized a need for "singles" which was a thinly disguised annoyance at Miller's tendency to look for the big play instead of accepting a few vital yards.

Proper situational use will be particularly necessary in Miller's case.

The vast majority of running backs who rely on their speed have a tendacy to do this. Instead of accepting what is there, they are looking for the big play. It worked in high school and to some degree in college. It took Reggie Bush all of his career in New Orleans and half the 2011 year in Miami to realize this. Let's hope it doesn't take Miller that long to learn the same lesson.

Does anybody think we will have a true number one? Too many rb's to share the ball. It's going to be tough but we will see.

as far as injury talk is concerned, imagine what people thought about mcgahee's injury coming out of college? that was just brutal. frank gore had huge injury issues at the U as well. Seems like the U backs have been rather durable in the NFL comparitive to their college careers.

If anyone expects him to pound the ball that's not what he does. 2 yards , 1 yard , 80 yard TD. Chris Johnson ish. With a strong O line he could be deadly.

The draw play and screens. That's Miller time :brewskis:

he aint no quarterback bud, as long as his knees are good he will find the endzone. He will be our Ladanian Tomlinson of his era.

So a RB doesn't need healthy shoulders to play football? Doesn't affect how well they carry the football? Linebackers aren't going to hit him in the shoulder?

Dude asked why he left college so early. This is why.

That's the rub.

we'll have to wait and see, I think he was a steal in the 4th. Reminds me of the Lorenzo Booker pick back in 07. Maybe i'm Just talking crazy but we'll wee...
