Everyone is talking about Denver's Offense potentially being without JThomas, Sanders, Ball and Hillman, Welker being washed up etc.....while that is certainly a blow for their Offense and will help us on D, lets talk about how our O line is gonna match up to their D Line/Front 7

Denver's D is currently 2nd in the league against the run, 18th against the pass, and 5th Overall....we couldn't do much on the ground against the Lions, and this front 7 is almost as good if not just as good...luckily we learned from that game and played way better against the Bills..

we have to think about Dallas Thomas blocking Von Miller and then Juwan James against D Ware...I do think that DThomas will be better against Von Miller than he was against M Williams cause Von isnt as much as a bull rusher than Williams is and quite frankly Von Miller isn't statistically having his best year after his ACL...and although I neverr thought I would say this i think he can do a solid job for the remainder of the season...starter next season?we will see...
Juwan certainly has his hands full against D Ware but he did good at his first start at LT against MDareus...Dareus and Williams on the Bills lead the league with 10 sacks each...not a bad job for first start at LT in the NFL for James...
then our interior line is gonna have to account for Terrence Knighton and Syl Williams...not an easy task...will colledge or smith be playing?
their LBs (Irving and Marshall) are solid too...I think we need game plan like we did against Buffalo..although RT got sacked a bunch, Miller had 85yards rushing and then RT and DWilliams had a bunch as well....
good thing deion simms is back healthy so he can chip their edge guys and just stay back to block..plan to see alotta 3 and 5 step drops for RT and hopefully we utilize screens, draws and delays to offset their speedy pashrush...
once we can establish some type of running attack we can open up against the pass D which is pretty good too...if the Rams can, we can...I just am not buying into the hype of us going to Denver and whooping them;it will be much tougher than that lets be serious!...peyton manning at milehigh is always tough..

Good post. I.was thinking the same thing. How is our Oline gonna handle their front 7... Gonna be a battle. I think it is imperative to start fast this week. This is a team we cannot afford to be digging ourselves out of a hole....

This is another opportunity for us to beat a playoff kind of team. So far we've only beaten one. Lets see if we can turn the corner. To be real contenders you need to beat playoffs teams.

Denver has 32 sacks, 47 hits, and 135 hurries. Miami has 33 sacks, 35 hits, and 136 hurries.

Yes, they are damn good.

They are excellent…but they also benefit from playing with the lead quite regularly. Not to take anything away from them because they are excellent…and that pass rush duo is the best in the league along with ours IMO. Just saying if we want to neutralize that pass rush some…then don't get down by 10+. We have to score…and we have to run the ball effectively or we will be in trouble.

One thing to add - even though Denver's pass defense may be ranked 18th (15th actually) at 243 yds/game, it is largely because opponents find themselves behind and end up passing the ball a lot against them. In fact opponents have 423 pass attempts against them, which is by far the largest total of any team.

But if you look instead at Denver's yards per pass attempt ranking (which I think is a much better indicator) they are tied for 1st in the league at 6.1 ypa. (They're tied with us ;) ). The Broncos are definitely an underrated defense.

A few things. Yes, the front 7 is tough. I think they could "wear the hat" and be the difference Sunday. People are talking way too much about Manning vs. Miami's defense. I agree that the matchup to watch is Denver's defense vs. Miami's offense.

A few things. I think the edge rushers of Denver could be brutal on Miami. Plus, it is in a brutal road environment. I will say it again...2 TE Sets and have an extra lineman next to Thomas. I think there could be a few strip sacks.

However, I will also say that while the run defense is good, the numbers are bit a skewed because they are always up a ton of points. Perhaps, if this game is close, Miami can have more success on the ground than previously thought.

Finally, there MLB Nate Irving you mentioned is IR'ed.

Tough matchup I agree. I do not think this line is fixed by any means and will still lead to major issues down the stretch. The Albert injury is going to be hard to overcome.

Except that not only is Denver the #2 rush defense in terms of yards per game, they also rank #2 in terms of yards per rush attempt at 3.3 ypc. Only Detroit is better (fyi, we're 7th at 3.8 ypc). Totally agree with you, this has all the makings of a very tough game.

Who said I did not think this was not a tough game?

?? Your double negative is making it hard for me to understand your point, but I thought you said this would be a tough game and I agree it will be a tough game, so I think we're good?

Colledge if he is healthy or Smith at LG? Thomas I think is our only option for RT...what about nate garner he is a decent player?
