You can blame the defense, the playcalling, whatever. We just do not have enough talent to score points. Sparano is on the sidelines clapping after field goals. You cannot beat the better teams in the NFL by kicking field goals.

Ya but the defense is more to blame tonight. They should be fresh for not being on the field that much and they get torched. Its like when the offense shows up, the defense doesn't and vice versa.

Its not even NFL caliber my friend. We have some very talented running backs thats about it. Tonight is an embarrasment.

Our whole team pretty much doesn't have championship level talent. That's just the way it is and maybe that's why I didn't get upset to see us crushed by Baltimore in the playoffs, it's because I'm not delusional. And it's also why I support Pennington as the QB, because I really don't believe this team is capable of winning without an intense ball-control type offense. I said all along that our defense was atrocious and some here seemed to forget just how porous they were in amazingly limited field time last year. The fact remains that our only defense is offense, besides some good pass rush plays of course, and even with our offense controlling the game completely tonight our defense couldn't even keep the Colts from reaching the end zone practically untouched on two out of three drives in the second half.

Where are the people that think that Pennington is the one thing that is holding this team back again? A stopgap he may be, but he is a stopgap that is one of the only QB's who could take this crappy team anywhere. And even then, other members of the team let the game-winning score slip right through their hands. Pathetic.

The defense wasn’t that bad. Manning had a bunch of three and outs too. He always does what he did tonight. Our only hope was scoring touchdowns instead of field goals, and that I blame on Pennington, or more exactly, the way we play because of the limitations of Chad Pennington.

I agree 100% my fin-brother. Maybe I was a little too harsh on the O and our talent - but that is because I knew our defense would not stop the Colts. It's been like this for years....we go up by 3 or 4 points with 2 or 3 minutes on the lock, and the other team wins. This has been going on for years here.

Well, last year it wasn't, but we had a lot of bad teams that ended up on the cusp of beating us and we won because they failed to execute on offense when they had a chance to win the game. That's what happens with bad teams. And in the Texans game, where we were actually facing a good offense, they made us pay.

That won't happen this year with a better schedule and while people still chant their mantra about Pennington being the achilles heel, it's going to be failures in other areas like it was tonight.

We don;t have championship level offensive players but this game was lost by the defense. That offense gave us 45 minutes of football and 23 points. I can't believe how many of you guys are blaming the offense

Our defense was pretty bad , not sure what game u were watching
Pennington put a pass right in Ginns hands , does he need to catch it also

Agree 100% ... this team is a few years away from getting the most out of the talant that is being aquired by the F/O ... and when you can't tackle or block like the last 2 games have shown, you lose... it's that simple ... missed tackles have resulted in TD'S and missed blocking assignment have cost the team TO'S ... to bad miami lost in the manner, it did tonight... they really showed me something on offense... up until that last drive!!! they shoved the ball down Indy's thoughts, just like the old BP Giants teams use to do ... IMO it will all fall into place ... and they will start winning against the better teams... i feel it will be a 6-8 win season ... hopefully this F/O can continue to build through the draft and build a consistant winning football team... it just might not be in 2009!!!

It was fun to watch, i felt like i was watching the 80's/90's Giants teams playing smashmouth football!!! i loved it... up until the last 4 minutes of the game... the defense did nothing IMO ... someone has to teach those safeties how to tackle ... they were attrochous!!!

The offense was fine! 23 points should be enough to win the game. Blame our junk-*** defense.
