Our pal Pete P. takes his weekly swing at us
Now he's sticking up for Ray Mucus, telling us we need to get off his back-
"Did you see what unemployed quarterback Ray Lucas had to say last week about the blame being given him for the Dolphins failure to make the playoffs last season? Lucas went 0-3 and was terrible in his three starts in relief of Jay Fiedler last year. So when Miami missed the playoffs by one game, the fans blamed it on Lucas, even though if Miami had won one of its final two games, started by Fiedler, it would have been in the playoffs. "I didn't play the last two games," Lucas told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "We still could have won the division and been in the playoffs. I didn't play the last two games. So you tell me. You can blame the season on me all you want. But that's all I'm going to say about it. That's my one shot at the whole thing: I didn't play the last two games. I'll take the whole thing on my shoulders. I don't care; it doesn't bother me. But I didn't play the last two games. Period. I didn't. That's gonna sound bitter. But ... I think I am a little bitter." If it's win-and-you're-in and you don't, the blame rests on the entire team. Miami fans need to get off Lucas' back, especially because many of them were screaming for him to be the team's starter during the 2002 preseason. The Cowboys are still considering signing Lucas, where he would be reunited with Bill Parcells."
