I think everyone is in agreement we are getting a rookie QB in the draft, personally think its either going to be Quinn or Stanton. Quinn for his readiness and Stanton for his mobility. I know alot of people think bringing Trent here is not that good of an idea but let me say this, god for bid if Trent does go down, we would have insurance with one of our rookies. Yeah i know, why cant the same be for DC and you all know he was a running QB which i dont think he will ever be again. I also think that Green would be a little better mentor because he could help teach the rookie reads and all the other things that go into a pocket QB. Daunte was a very athletic QB, and he cant teach how to be athletic either you are or you arent. In an ideal situation Trent will be fine for a year or two and groom the rookie at the same time leading us to alot of wins but lets not forget this is the NFL and alot can happen.

we may not get either of them but I can guarentee we get one of these guys

1. Quinn
2. Stanton
3. Edwards
4. Kolb
5. Beck

I don't want Beck. He is already 25 years old.

he's got skills though, if it comes down to it I might take him. I might take Trent Edwards and maybe even Troy Smith over him though

i agree wit u completely, culpepper is not the type of QB i would want moldin our rookie, green has alot more experience nd he has the no how 2 train them, he has also proven himself that he can play wit othere teams nd different players, he has made an impact with alot of teams, including helpin mold kurt warner into an nfl QB.

I say if we don't get Quinn in the first without giving up picks then its whoever is left in the 4rth!!!!, I like levi Brown in the first, Sidney Rice at 2a would give us a #1 receiver allowing CC to become a pro-bowler in the slot, Quentin Moses is my pick for 2b, could be the OLB that could give JT and JP breaks, Satele is the big center in the 3rd we could line up for years to come, and in the 4rt round is Beck or Smith or Kolb, not in that order but 1 of them to groom. I really wish we could find someone beween 18-22 to trade their 1 and 2 with and grab Staley and Edwards or Stanton in the 2nd, who knows.

In my opinion, the QB must come in the first two rounds.

Say no to Trent Edwards. Go with Kolb or Beck. Check The injury report on Edwards, what do you think will happen to his shoulder in 2007 if he gets a chance to play.

INJURY REPORT
2003: Suffered a right shoulder contusion vs. Washington State (Sept. 27) that forced him to sit out the Oregon and UCLA games … Left the California contest (Nov. 22) with a deep thigh bruise, missing the season finale vs. Notre Dame.

2004: Left the Oregon contest (Oct. 23) after spraining his right shoulder … Re-injured his shoulder on the first play of the second half vs. Arizona State (Nov. 6), missing the next two contests vs. Oregon State and California.

2005: Missed most of the Cal-Davis game (Sept. 17) with a right hand contusion … Left the Oregon State game (Nov. 12) in the third quarter after being hit by linebacker Keith Ellison, suffering a left thumb sprain … Suffered a neck/right shoulder stinger when he was sacked by defensive tackle Brandon Mebane at the start of the third quarter vs. California (Nov. 19) and left the Notre Dame contest the following week when he re-injured his shoulder at the start of the third quarter after being sacked by defensive end Victor Abiamiri.

2006: Because of a lingering right shoulder injury, Edwards was limited in spring drills … Sat out the final five games of the season vs. Arizona State, Southern California, Washington, Oregon State and California and missed the final three quarters of the Arizona contest (Oct. 14) when he suffered a broken bone in his right foot during first quarter action vs. the Wildcats
