I was just looking at our roster and noticed that with the addition of williams and wright, we must cut a good player because of the 53 man rule....why can't they up the roster to like 55 or 57 players. Didn't they up the practice squad to 8 per team from 5 last year?

i agree. there is no way there should be only 53 players. 55 is a good number.

that couple of extra players can really make a difference

plus for every game you can only activate a certain amount of players. I dont understand why they do that.

They do it because they have to have a cut off somehwere.

Chances are you'll have an injury somehwere (or maybe even Poole) and that player will go on IR, or PUP.

If they up the number to 55 or even 60, in a few years people will be complaining and campaining to change it to 62 or 65. I think they will eventually change it, but like Losman said, it has to be stopped somewhere.
