Just trying to shed some light on a gloomy season thus far...but things will turn around. Now back to the point I wanted to make.
Our secondary has been sooooooo much better than it was last year. We could takle for our lives last year. This year it has been nothing short of superb thus far. This is the one area that I can truly see a huge improvment on.

Ex. Tillman's takle (jersey tug) against the Titans to save our *$$ from getting scored on.

One instant is 2 games is all you have? Seriously, our secondary has been the worst this year since I started watching the Dolphins. All they wana do is Hit, never tackle. Last week they were horrible, the only thing that saved us was the throws were even worse.

I'm not so sure about that. The DB's usually contain on the end runs. This year we have been hit hard on runs to the outside. They have been good at times, bad at others IMO. That Jersey tug was nice, but there should have been better coverage to begin with.

Our secondary might be good in run support but **** in coverage and EVERYBODY knows that

I love your optimism, its something that seems to be missing from this web site. I could almost imagine i was reading a dolphins hate site. I know we all love the dolphins, so lets focus on the positives.

Yes there is some improvement and there is more to be made. Thanks for posting positively

It is never a good sign when your secondary is making the bulk of the tackles...

Man, I'm glad somebody else noticed as well. In the Pittsburgh game I was like, "Wow, when could we make open field tackles?"

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that we were finally making tackles that needed to be made.

Now we just need to quit having to make those tackles and prevent the passes from ever being completed in the first place...

Saban has molded this secondary in his image, they need more experience in his system and will be much improved once they "get it". I am encouraged by what I see in our secondary.

Last year the guys "got it" in the 6 game win streak, but honestly they were not as fast nor as good at tackling as this crop is. Our secondary will be fine, not great, but should help win ball games once they "get it".

I hope so...

I do agree that they have been tackling well this season. But last week I believe we should have lost that game if not for the terrible passes by Kerry Collins. I recall 3 or 4 crucial incompletions were the reciever was 2 to 3 steps beyond our db and Collins overthrew them. All of which made my heart stop for a few beats as if completed they would have been big plays.
On the travis Daniels int the reciever was open and past Daniels but the ball was thrown behind him creating the INT. The db's had better step it up this week because they won't get those gifts from Carr.

Thats what I've been saying, we barely won last week and the only reason we did was because Kerry Collins couldnt drop a nickle in a hole the size of the grand canyon.

We've lost games this year and every year as easily as we have won. just take the wins and hope we improve. I believe we will be much better as the season goes along.

Our Secondary has Been GREAT with run Support

i was wondering when someone else was going to notice this.

they ARE doing much better in that area than the last db's,
but, unfortunately, they are not covering worth a poop
and just are not playing well as a group.

thats what ya get though when you hire on a bunch of
castoff, 3rd string talent db's.

I noticed Will Allen seems above average in run coverage...which I didnt know prior to seeing him play in a finz uni. I really didnt read much up on him though, so maybe that was something that was clearly stated. Anyway, I think Allen has done a great job with his run defense.
