If Daniels doesn't heal in a timely manner we could be in big trouble. That means the only starting caliber db we have is will allen, and he isn't exactly all pro.

daniels will be fine, dont worry. He's just taking time off so he doesnt have to work so hard, like half of the other teams veterans are doing. Why risk him on games that do not count?

Even so depth will be an issue. We need to pick up another player. Hopefully, we can pick up a decent db after cuts are made by other teams.

Will Allen is every bit as good as Sam Madison was. And Jason Allen would be a lot further along if he had not missed all the practices from his holdout.

We have 3 weeks till the regular season.... thats what matters.. Not whether they are ready to play a meaningless pre-season game.

:shakeno:
After watching the preseason game in detail on my TIVO, I have to say that I totally disagree with you.

I think our secondary is going to be very good. Will Allen made at least 2 big plays while he was out there.

Too early to worry about this situation. Daniels will be fine by the time we play Pittsburgh. Jason Allen will be better and better as the preseason continues. And Will Allen will also get better. I think we'll just fine.

If our secondary is in this injury/depth/struggling situation and playing like they did the other night in the 3rd pre-season game which means at least a little (starters playing 2 1/2 qrts), then Ill be worried.

Our secondary have to learn how to play togehter.. expecially after the 1st string guys. There is alot of youth there... they just need experience.

Lets not discount Goodman. If need be, Jason can play CB (he has been taking snaps there) and if it came down to it, Hill can as well. That would leave Bell, Tillman and Cooper playing safety, so i do not think that we are in crisis mode.

Travis is off crutches and riding the bike... that is a big step. Lehan should be good to go in about a week, and he was impressing the staff. Like others have noted, Jason Allen and Renaldo Hill could be used as corners. We are fine. I love how the writer of this latest article throws in how Saban now describes Daniels' injury as "significant", while it was originally called day to day. Day to day means he could wake up one morning and feel much better thus leaving no real timetable, it doesn't mean he is one or two days from playing. Furthermore, Saban says that he HAD a significant sprain, not that it is significant currently. That was weak reporting right there, I heard Saban's PC with my own ears.

The way things are shaping up I would see about getting a FA in, if there are any left out there. TY Law comes to mind, if he has not been picked up by someone else.
