i think the bills are one of the up and comming teams in the league, and like us, are looking to get just enough QB play to put them over the top. i don't think were identicle personnel wise, but here is some of what im getting at...
QB: flynn - fitzpatrick ::: looks aside, both precision passers, neither revered for their arm but could be deadly in the short game with enough deep threat
RB: messam/thomas/bush (clearly we want the power/doitallback) ... fredjax/cj spiller :: mismatches with speed guys who can be split out wide like really no other backs in the league, and power houses to compliment them, fred is a do it all and by no comparison is messam him, but i can see we are looking for a similar playstyle multiheaded back system again like them.
WR: Marshall/bess/hartline/gates .. Stevie/smith/jones/parish/nelson
TE: Anthony Fasano .. scott chandler :: both middle of the packs, neither is going to burn you but both are pretty huge guys.. chandler is a lot bigger.. both are versatile in passing game/blocking game and red zone... chandler more then fasano in redzone atm.
OL: Long/Pouncey/incognito/jerry/garner .. demetrius bell/Levitre/eric wood/rinehart/pears ::: both have some studs on their line and some stopgap guys and some players that clearly need to be upgraded. both good run blocking lines but clearly something to be desired in the pass protection department
DL: Starks/Langford/Soliai/Odrick .. Williams/Dareus/Edwards :: we put more stock into our dline previous years and were successful in the 3-4, something the bills wanted to do for a while. now we're kind of feeling like too much money is invested in the dline and need to put more emphasis on the passrush so MAY switch to a 4-3. the bills invested heavy in dline with dareus and now realize him playing NT or 5tech is a waste of his skill set, and because edwards and williams are older they are seriously thinking about going to a 4-3. basically both teams are considering switching base formations based on personnel of this unit.
LB: Wake/Dansby/Burnett/Misi .. barnett/morisson/kelsay/moats/merriman
CB/S: Bell/clemons/jones/davis/smith/allen/wilson ..aaronWilliams/mckelvin(both up and comers)/Mcgee/florence(savy stopgat vets at this point)Byrd/wilson...
i think they have a few playmakers at LB like us but no where near as good. And likewise one of the better (but underrated)safeties like us bell/byrd.... they have some respected older CB's like we carried in will allen and aaron williams/mckelvin remind me a bit of vontae/smith... a LITTLE. also stevie johnson isnt brandon marshall but they do have a "chief" and a bunch of indians that could be upgraded easily
so yea maybe we aren't twins or anything, but were shaping up as similar teams. we had bad struggles at the start of the year, likewise they had the same at the end. i think next year the phins and bills will be battling out for the #2/#3 spot in our division. QB play will be the deciding factor
