Just saw that everyone in our secondary is under 6 feet tall except for Reshad Jones. With receivers and tight ends getting bigger and bigger in the NFL, I think our secondary needs to be overhauled to keep up with these current trends on offense. These man vs midget match-ups are killing us. I guess I'm being Captain Obvious on this subject, but there you have it.

Brent Grimes 5'-10" (I think CBS Sports is being generous on this one)
Cortland Finnegan 5'-10"
Jimmy Wilson 5'-11"
Will Davis 5'-11"
Jamar Taylor 5'-10"
Reshad Jones 6'-1"
Louis Delmas 5'-11"

Heights are from CBS Sports.

We've got bigger roster problems. (Pun intended) :rimshot:

This bothered me when we picked up Finnegan. But I don't think the 2ndary has been bad. I expected worse to be honest.

I agre . These guys are physical.... But undersized and it's killing us!

I have always hated smurf sized DBs and yes Brent Grimes is closer to 5'8" then 5'10". Give me a 6'1" 205 pound cornerback anyday.

Say what you want but its not like we are begin out muscled or losing a bunch of one on one jumps balls. Our secondary is doing just fine. Grimes is a baller and Finnegan is a damn good #2. The Defense and especially the secondary played their ass off this past Sunday. If it wasn't for that our D it would have been a blow out VERY early with those 2 cheap INTs by TH. We had 10 to 13 plays alone where the coverage was so stout A-Rod had no where to go with plenty of time to throw.

Lets stop focusing on the things that aren't really hurting us.

The secondary is fine, half the passing yards were due to extended play and alot of other plays that were extended were still covered. When Rogers steps on the field its usually an easy 300 yards game so 264 and the majority off of extended plays is great play by the secondary. Big corners is just the new fad since Seattle had success with them.

It's an issue especially with who we face this week... Alas its not one we can fix today!!! If we can get to cutler early and often this issue will be lessened but it will still be there... I am definitely nervous for Sunday!!!

I don't disagree that this is a concern, but I view it more as a long term issue. Having a little size in that area would help with some of the big physical receivers we have in the league, but not the first area I would address.

I agree about our DB's being too small. Watching Finny and Grimes getting pushed down the field after the WR makes the catch is happening more pften.
It will happen again in Chicago. Just watch.

Finnegan is done. He blamed St Louis DC and I could see him blaming Philbin and co. before this thing is over.

he got his money.

His tackling sucked. He is less aggressive than the days when he used to taunt our WR's.

Free Agents 2014 starting to take a turn for the worst.

Non issue, lets fix our coaching problems before we give a **** about the height of players.

Yeah? How did Sean Smith work out and the more physical Vontea Davis?

Give me a freak'in break. If the offense even did 50% of their job we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
