I just read on FOX Sports that if the Phins lose on Sunday we will be eliminated from playoff contention, is this correct?? Sorry I'm not very computer savvy so I don't know how to provide a link and all that but was unaware of this if it's indeed true. Just looking for feed back I know some of you really know how the whole playoff senario goes so thought I'd throw it out there. Man if this is true it brings a whole new meaning to tomorrow's game for us.

YES, its true.

anybody can look at the AFC wildcard race and see that we 100% need to winout to have any chance.

It doesn't eliminate us mathematically but we will definitly have no chance at the playoffs if we do lose any more games.

Yeah pretty much. Especially tomorrow's game because that would make it very difficult to overcome the Jags. Tomorrow is worth two games when it comes to us and the Jags.

There is a pretty big chance even if we do win out we dont make the playoffs. I think far too much emphasis is being put on the playoffs. Hell just the fact that tommorows game could put us back at .500 after a 1-6 start is highly impressive. Had we started the season like this there is no doubt we are in the playoffs and are fighting for division title. Yea it would be great to get in to the playoffs but the important thing is to establish conistency to start next year so that we don't have to depend on everyone else to lose in order for us to get in to the playoffs.

we're in a position now where we need to win out & that still might not be enough.

I love that sig man, that is awesome!

I think if we win out we'll be in. I'd settle for 8-8 or 9-7 because then we will have something to look forward to next year. But I still believe we can make the post season.

With all the crazy different senario's that happen each year i just did'nt think tomorrow was "it". I know we pretty much had to win out but guess i just over looked the obvious. Maybe I just did'nt want it to be true.

yep. need to win out.

yes, we do. if we go 10-6 we have a CHANCE at wildcard. any other record will not work. wayyy too many teams ahead of us right now

Isn't that what we said after we finished the season on a 6 game win streak last year and look what happened. I am just hoping for Miami to finish over .500 and then next year start over and get off to a good start instead of putting themselves in a hole.

Yeah but Saban won't make the same mistake twice and go with a quarterback who only has one healthy knee. Our expectations will be just the same going into next year.

A loss tomorrow would make the playoff chances very bleak but still possible. If we lost two more games, we're screwed.

realistically yes. mathmatically no. If the only game we lose is against the Jags and NE loses the remainder of theirs, and the Jets and Bills win no more than 2 and 3 more games respectively then we win the AFC East. Same is true with the wildcard race...if we only lose 1 more game and the other wildcard contenders lose most of theirs, then we would still get in.
Losing 1 more game (or Indy winning 1) would mathmatically elimate us from having home field throughout the playoffs though.
But again, in the real world, 1 more loss and we are done.
