I live in Arizona, but looking at the December 7th game against the Ravens as my first Dolphins game. I am curious, as I would fly into Miami. What would it cost to get a taxi to the game and from. I would fly in Friday night, so I could enjoy Saturday in Miami as I've never been there. But I'm just curious what kind of budget I should be looking for getting to the game.

Well...

Flight from AZ to Miami is one of two ways.

Fly AZ to Atlanta to Miami (Usually Delta)

Fly AZ, to Dallas to Miami (Usually American Airlines)

Tickets are around $600-$700

Easiest bet would be to stay at Don Shula Hotel as I believe they offer bus service to the stadium (usually part of a package price). The hotel is a bit old, but situated in Miami Lakes (Main Street) that is a 'mini' night life feel to it. Hotel is about 15 minute drive from the stadium.

If you want the real Miami experience, well my friend it all depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. I would say stay at the Fountainblue in Miami Beach.

If I booked my ticket with US Airways, I would leave 6:30am Phx time on Saturday, and then leave Miami 10am on Monday. It would be less than $400 round trip. I would have to go through North Carolina, but I'm not worried about layovers. How far is the hotel you mentioned with the shuttle from the airport? I would rely on a taxi to the hotel. I honestly would love a hotel near the beach if possible. But my main goal is to see my boys at home for the first time. I saw them here in Arizona a couple years ago, but this would be my first experience in Miami itself. Money isn't an issue, but I would like to cut costs where possible. I am an Accountant, so being frugal is on my priority list. I'm looking at endzone tickets 6th row currently.

Great information, sounds perfect. Thank you for taking the time to provide information. I'm curious, how far from the airport is this hotel? And, do you know of any hotels that might be closer to the beach that provide transport to and from the game? I don't know what the nightlife is like in Miami, and where it's popular. But that would also be nice to get involved with on a Saturday night.

Google maps:

25 Min Drive (11.6 Miles)

It's a plus for the game being close and the tailgate and transport, but you will be far from the REAL Miami night life. (South Beach, Miami Beach, Lincoln Road, etc)

Not sure what other Hotels offer direct shuttles to game.

I'd stay in SoBe. Rent a car for the weekend and have a blast Saturday night and be to game Sunday.

That was my goal. I'm not planning on driving though, as alcohol will be a heavy factor in my Saturday night and the pre-game/game itself. The public transport doesn't seem like a bad idea from the link Vaark provided. Although a shuttle to and from a hotel wouldn't be bad either. I just would love to experience the Miami nightlife if I could on Saturday.

Well I'm not sure where you want to stay, but a cab from the airport to the stadium area would not be too much from what I know. I'll put it this way. You can go from the airport to Weston, which is way fartehr in the northwest corner of Miami area for under $100 and you have no need to go nearly as far as that. Enjoy your first game!

I've often wondered about getting a group of fans from here and going. Not sure if anyone would be interested but it's something I may put out there after this season to see if there is anyone is.

For me personally, I can fly in Sat afternoon stay at a LaQuinta or equivalent then go to the game and fly back. I don't need to do the South Beach tourist shake.

I would want to fly in on a Saturday afternoon to hit the Miami club scene. I'm 28, love house music, and love alcohol. I wouldn't fly in just for the game. I would want to enjoy some time at the beach if possible. I don't know where the night life occurs, but I would imagine it's close to the beach?

I wouldn't mind staying at a La Quinta, but this being my first Miami visit, I would want to go all out. :)

Wife and I cash in Marriott points and US Air miles for games. Priceline negotiate a car and we're good.
