There are many Phin Phans throughout the country, and then some.

When did those outside of South Florida become fans and why?

Was it Shula, Zonk, Dan "THE MAN", or something entirely different?

I was 8 watched a game thought the colors were cool. Then later became fascinated with Dan then Duper had a cool name found out both recievers names were Mark even cooler . Then came the fascination with offerdahl, followed by a super fascination with cox man did he make me develop an attitude on the field then my favorite the entrances of thomas and taylor who have kept me faithful through the tough times......

Born and raised in Miami. It doesn't matter where I move to, I'll always be a Dolphins fan :dolphins:

That's kind of my argument lol. My brother had a Dolphins jacket and I did everything he did so I starting following them more than any other team when I was about 6 and it just kind of stuck.

Moved there when I was 1, and was raised a Miami fan. Left Miami when I was 12, but never thought about changing teams.

My Team

BORN IN MIAMI AND AS I MOVED AROUND IT WAS FUN TO SEE SO MANY TEAMS HATE THE DOLPHINS. HOW COULD YOU NOT STAY WITH THEM. FIN FOR LIFE.:dolphins:

I was 5 years old, and i fell in love with the logo and football, and then it just grew like an addiction, when i found out who dan marino was, and it's been an addiction ever since.

Grew up eight miles from Ralph Wilson Stadium. Hated O.J. Simpson, Joe Ferguson, et al. Loved Czonka, Griese, Shula and Warfield. 17-0. The 20-0 record verses the Bills in the 70s was awesome. And I always referred to the fans at the stadium as 80,000 screamin' a**holes. Later came Dan and the Marks Bros. What's not to love?

yeah, my dad was watching a pats vs fins game in 1983...I was p'd off he wouldn't get away from the tv to play catch....so I started to root for the fins to spite him.....I never turned back, I was 7 then.....but thats funny what you wrote about cox there.....I was considered a "punk" on the field. although I was all-division, many coaches hated me for my on-field antics, which I developed because of my infatuation with Mr. Cox....I loved that guy....good ol numba 51......

Im from Mexico City where almost everybody is a dophins fan, besides the steelers and the cowboys. Guess I picked the right one long, long time ago.

Born in a small New England town and moved around a lot while growing up (military brat). My best friend when I was 6 was a 'Phins fan and since I thought dolphins were the coolest animal ever, they just stuck with me...

Almost 30 years later, I'm thankful for sticking with a team that pisses my dad off year after year...:D

The fins always came on TV in north florida and my granddad got me hooked in the early 90s. We would watch the fins game every Sunday. By the time the stupid Jags came along it was too late for them, I was already a fin fan for good.

I was living in Italy in 1972 and I broke my arm jumping off of a swingset..I was 6 years old. One of my dad's military buddies came to the hospital and gave me an aqua blue colored rabbit (a stuffed one) So that became my color. I started watching football that year and just loved the Dolphin's uniforms. They went on to win the Superbowl that year. We got to see the games a week late, and they would show the game highlights in the base movie theater before the movies. They also won the SB the following year and I have been a diehard ever since. Good thing I did not get a crappy green rabbit or I could have ended up a Jet's fan.
