No hate. No homerism. Predict where he will be in 2 seasons?

Totally depends on the next coach and how he is able to save his career in Miami.

I think a Hue Jackson, Todd Haley or a coordinator that understands QB's and protections could save him. No question.

I say this a million times over, but I believe in blue collar football. Run first, throw off of play action, slow the pass rush down by being a strong running team and using 12 Personnel. I think this type of offense fits RT. Plus, this offense is portable and able to be used in Buffalo, New York and Foxboro.

Sons of Shula..thanks for the thumbs down and negative reputation without a reply...lame as usual

A huge positive the rest of the season could be RT playing very well. That would give some hope. Seems like he is in a sleepwalk at times...yet he makes throws that are dynamite and takes hits and pops right up.

Starting for the jets playing gatekeeperto the wildcard spot until Brady retires while we roll around in misery wondering why we never go anywhere...

Looking more and more likely he will be gone after next year, and we will just replace him with someone on par or (more likely) worse... Because Dolphins.

Tannehill is very frustrating. He has all the tools and even some of the intangibles to be successful, but he tends to shrink in the worst moments and never really elevates the team. He would be great starter for a team like the Jets, Bills or Texans and likely would lead them to the playoffs because they are more complete teams, but our sorry FOs can't be trusted to build a great team around him here so he will fail.

It's the curse of average. We won't be in position to get an upgrade at the position because of constant mid-first round draft position. Good is the enemy of great.

I would replace "Good" with "mediocre" but other than that your point stands.

No offense Elle but I've seen you do it numerous times in other Tannehill threads. Doesn't make it right or wrong but nobody respects a hypocrite.

I can send you a snapshot of my negative rep... guess who fills it up.. Sons of Shula.. he is infatuated with me...not being a hypocrite, but it's something he has for me.

I think if we keep Campbell he stays with us, if we change the HC and get a new OC Tannehill will be playing a new kind of scheme, that will be his doom as he wont get the chance to mature on the new scheme and I would bet he would be out at the end of next year under that scenario

What's the over under on how long elle will be on this board? That's the better question

Ehh I mean you did phrase it as a loaded question, "either backup or somewhere else" so you're sort of implying he wont be starting on this team regardless in 2 years.

I think Tanne's gonna be gone. Another team desperate for a viable QB competitor, and avoiding the draft, will put up some money for him and take him off our hands, and we'll draft new blood.

At this point I think we absolutely have to draft a QB in 2 years (not next year though, that needs to be defense 100%). Tanne's just not proving it can be done under him without extensive resources. He's a game-changer when the other team is faltering, but he's the one faltering when they're playing well. I don't think it's smart to hedge your bets on a QB like that going into the future, you're essentially asking for mediocrity.

Tannehill needs better QB coaching, he needs a better OC, a better O Line. Unless he has all these components I think his career's going to slow down big time. He's improved at the deep ball, but regressed in other areas this year. Decision-making has been poor, in the pocket, using his legs, reading the defense, picking his targets, he's still having major issues in these areas and it's chronic. Opponents have plenty of tape on his deficiencies, and it doesn;t help that Lazor runs the same offense every game. Big Change is needed.

I predict he will still be our starting qb in two years. He has improved up until this year and its not like he has fell off a cliff this season.
Andrew Luck is having a pretty bad season and I dont think any of their fans are predicting he will be elsewhere in two years

A smart coach is not going to just get rid of him unless he doesnt fit their system. Im trying to think of a system that he is that ill suited for that is related to a certain coach.

i'll be shocked if they don't trade him next year.

He'll be on the browns.
