overhyping beck?

is it me or are we trying to overhype beck and bring strong points for him to make up for us not picking him? :err:
 
some people are saying he is like jeff garcia...idk about you guys but i dont want jeff garcia leading my team...and being the face of my franchise
 
And he has a cannon for an arm...The second fast ball in terms of mph at combine...Watch some interveiws and highlights and you have no reason not to be optimistic about this guy...
 
haha actually this isnt make believe.... Beck really does look better in almost every aspect, save his size. He can do everything Quinn can and more... we have the guys to develop QBs and we got what looks like the most complete QB prospect available for them. C'mon terry shea tutored Quinn himself at his pro day or whatever.... that obviously had something to do with it. Having him as a 2nd rounder and being that he's 26 is also a good thing because we don't have to over-commit to him as a starter if struggles for years... who knows it could be that it doesnt matter how old he is, because he's that good... and can be for 10 years.
 
He is pretty accurate I'll give him that. One thing I notice is that his schedules have been pretty weak and the type of offense he played in at BYU was a wide-open one that used 4 WR sets. And that concerns me because a lot of QB's under those systems have a rough time adjusting to a pro style offense. I'll still root for him but I still have my reservations.

i agree with you he may just be another system quarterback...i kno steve oung succeded...but not much other from byu
 
It was confirmed by inside sources during the draft that on at least a dozen teams draft boards had Beck rated ahead of Quinn.
 
Since the Sporting News gave us an A+ and the best grade in the draft, and Sports Illustrated said this:

"But if what I think could happen actually happens, then this will be a terrific draft for the Dolphins, much more serious than its listed grade (a B-). I'm looking at a two-word possibility. John Beck. Quarterback. Gym rat, competitor, Jeff Garcia type with a better arm. So if he's so great, why'd he last until a quarter of the way down the second round? Beats me."

The media seems to be coming around for the most part and suddenly all eyes are on John Beck. I think there are a lot of people who are starting to warm up to him.

where'd you read that? it's interesting but i find it kinda hard to believe (though i hope it's true, gives us a little more credibility)

Oh Gotcha.

Dont think its over Hype.... Brady was over hype.... We need to start being proud of what we got and give the kid a shot.

We didnt draft Brady we drafted Beck.......:ninja:
 
Of course Beck is being over hyped, just about every high pick at this point is over hyped, they can throw balls through tornados or run through brick (well sheet rock) walls etc. I do not think Beck will be a wash, I do expect him to play for us fairly quickly, and the good part about that is he can only improve, unlike the abyss that was the Harrington era....
