I know i did. Our run defense looked terrible but i dont think this is what we will be seeing when the season kicks off, apart from last year what huge changes did we make to this defense to make it so horrible in stopping the run? Crowder right? he was a downgrade and we upgraded his position so our defense should even be better. Defense will be better than last years. I cant believe i let myself get worried off 1 good series by atlanta =/.

Chad henne was actually pretty good in this game, he impressed me. For the ones who watched the game, you saw that chad henne only really made 1 bone head throw and that was the interception to bess but apart from that he looked solid. On paper it looks horrible but chad looks a bit different from last year. The fasano interception was all on fasano, that is not a qbs fault that fasanos could not grab a ball that hit him in the chest. Now before people flame for saying chad looked good, i am the biggest chad henne hater on this site, i think he sucks but i wont let that affect my opinion on how he did in this preseason game. The bonehead play to bess i admit made him look horrible as usual, but apart from that, he looked solid and i have to say i saw improvement in his confidence and better accuracy on the long ball to hartline.

Daniel thomas- our line didnt open much holes for him but he looked solid catchin that ball and picking up 15 yards.

hartline- Looking good..

Benny sapp, who the hect said they were worried about this guy starting on our team? I saw playmaking skills on this kid last year and hes gettin hungrier and hungrier to do even more for us, lets go sapp! Loving the trade from minnesota now.

Pouncey- Didnt really focus on this guy too much, can anyone shed some input on how he did? Seems to have a good head on his shoulders though, thats a great start.

Clemons- lol, damn he can hit, too bad he cant catch though =/. Its a tough choice between pickin reshad vs clemons, my instinct is to go with clemons starting game 1 and make reshad earn the starting position.

Matt moore- If chad henne isnt our guy this might be our best option.

Jimmy wilson- I want him on on my 54 man roster.

I wanted to add that our starting defense only played 3 downs where Matt Ryan went 3 and out... Sean Smith was able to shut down R. White and Julio Jones wasn't able to make 1 catch against V. Davis.. In the 2nd Atlanta possession, It was Nolan Carroll and Culver in the secondary where Julio Jones did much of the damage....I'm sure with Jimmy Wilson - Culver and Carrol won't even make the team.... Not worried about the defense...
I would like to know what was Henne thinking on that 2nd int...Even if Bess ran the right route, I just don't see this pass being completed....

They didn't prepare for the Falcons as if this was a regular game. Our defense sat in the same base defense all game. And I don't know if you guys remember last year Mike Nolan did the same thing and our defense was not good in the preseason and everyone was worrying about how bad our defense was going to be.

As far as Henne goes when you don't get to study film on an opponent especially for a QB you're going in blind.

Anyone already complaining just because of this preseason game is just stupid.

I agree with what everyone is saying about no preperation being done for preseason games, etc. etc, etc. However, wouldn;t it be nice if we just lined up in ONE of these games and looked good? How come this never hurts a team like NE who seems to roll anyone they want onto the field and they looks sharp? I'm far from panicking, it would just be nice to not have to make excuses for why we looked crappy after a preseasopn game for once when we are doing the same thing every other team is doing and some of them still look sharp doing it.

I feel you on this. I am just trying to be as patient as possible right now which will become even harder if the regular season starts and our offense looks like it did last season. But I am not really concerned about our D.

I agree with most of what you are saying but a good amount if not all of our starters were out there for the second series and the pass to julio jones on the drag route where he went across the line was on V. Davis. Still not a big deal but he did have one catch on davis. I almost argee with you on henne but I can not say I was impressed. That INT to bess was just horrible but his scramble for 10 yards and the throw to hartline were both impressive. I do not think he looked terrible and I also do not think he looked great. I wish we could lay off him for a few weeks and give him a shot to see what he can do. I think last year a lot of the blame had to go to Offensive Coor. as well as line and the RB's we did not run the ball very well last year and all the sudden last year the wildcat became obsolete. i think we will have a great defense and I also think this team will go as far as the Offensive line. If they can open holes and protect henne I think we can be a playoff team, if henne is constantly being rushed and our RB's have nowhere to run, we will be anywhere from 6-10 to 8-8.... season has not started yet so there is still hope

Vontae was in zone coverage you could see he was only covering part of the field but still a nice catch from julio

I don't think it's an overreaction to come away from that game thinking......

-Our defense is still good, maybe even better than last year with the additons of Odrick, Wilson, Edds & Burnett.
-But that our defense won't be able to do much other than keep us around .500 b/c our offense still has the exact same problems.
-And those problems are that Henne will throw more picks than TDs and our OL can't get any push.

Now.....if we were to start Matt Moore......and we went back into FA and signed TWO MORE STARTING GUARDS (and move Carey back to RT)........then maybe we could be better than mediocre.

Another option may be moving Pouncey to LG and Incognito to C and then we'd just need one new starting RG in FA (maybe O'Hara or Waters - whoever's healthier).

Hate to say it but they are just a better team.

Most teams didn't look any better than the Dolphins did. 1st teams struggled and the backups lit it up, same as every preseason.

Atlanta should have looked good. They were fielding almost the exact same team as last year. Same QB, same OC, same scheme. All they had to do was knock off some rust and pick up where they left off last year.

A vanilla defense and lack of effort from the starting Miami D and the Falcons still didn't look great. Nothing to worry about there. So they lit-up the backups, whoop-dee-doo.

The offense starting line-up for Miami was a couple of starters, a revolving O-line and a bunch of guys trying to make the team. Miami wasn't exactly playing their A team. Throw in Long, Marshall and Bush and it's a different team.

wouldnt say Atlanta looked great but when players who will make team were on field they looked better than us

in first qtr, maybe, but right now atlanta is working on two things. deep coverage and special teams. even then in first qtr, henne still burned them.

oh and btw. Mike Mularky running his same ol end around with Julio. You dont run these plays in preseason mike! NO is looking at your tape you *******!

They showcased julio for the homecrowd. in other words, they gave us their best stuff for julio. end around....LOL

so u can chalk up flynryan as a person who doesnt want to listen to anyone with anything intelligent to say.

Or he realized that anyone saying that Henne impressed them in that game must be smoking crack and shooting Heroine at the same time and quit reading after that point just like I did.
