Q. A number of fans really don’t like the new fight song, they don’t like the T-Pain version. A lot of people don’t like hearing Jimmy Buffett’s Fins when the team scores.
A. Ross: A lot of people do like the Fins song. The thing is you don’t know what people like and you don’t get a feeling for impact until you try something. We’re experimenting. That ‘s what preseason is for. I think Jimmy Buffett will definitely be part of it, he’s not going away. We happen to like the song, we’ve gotten a tremendous amount of favorable comments with regard to that. I think the T-Pain version was controversial. You have to realize, people inherently don’t like change. Same old, same old.

I think Ross really wants to give fans the best ticket in town & make every one happy. As long as he sticks to his guns & leaves Bill, Jeff & Tony alone im ok with him.

Ross clearly is trying to do whatever he can to help the team and give the fans something more. I love what he has done so far....shoot bad or good at least he's trying

oh god.. imagine if he changes the uniforms.. I wonder what that would like like.. Orange, purple and green with a dolphin drinking a margherita

He made a comment a while back on that I loved. He said when Huizenga was here it was all about broward. He said the Dolphins were named the Miami Dolphins not the FT.Laurderdale Dolphins and he was gonna do everything and anything to make it known these was a team that belong to Miami Dade. It won me over and I could not agree with him more.

Well I disagree...yes they are the Miami Dolphins but you have A LOT of dolphin supporters in South Florida. I live in Naples and I consider myself just as much as a fan as someone in Miami or Ft Laudy.

And in my opinion, miami as a whole is an awful city with their fans. The only time you see stadiums packed are playoffs. You see it with the Heat, Marlins and Panthers...obviously that was the case with the Phins. People go to the stadium because it might be the cool thing to do that night. They don't go because they love their team.

Now again, I say this as a whole, I know there are A LOT of true fans in Miami.

I live in Dirty Jersey and am just as much a fan as anyone who is south florida

Thanks, but that link doesn't take you to the Ross article. I can't find anything about team colors or stadium upgrades. I could care less if they play the Spongebob theme song as long as we are kicking ***... Stadium upgrades & our colors, however, are important to me.

They just did the whole Bus thing for fans upstate, but you cannot say that Huizenga didn't take all the Miami vibe from the Fins. He moved them from the orange bowl and he never addressed fans in Miami.

BTW I think it is fans in Florida period not Miami fans as whole. Look at the Jaguars or the Tampa Bay Rays. Lets also not forget the economy and how messed up it is. Im just happy this owner wants to make the Fins part of their true identity again. Making them part o fthe Miami Dade area like they once were is gonna be great.

Speaking of colors...I kind of forget about our uniform color change.

Our current aqua color was a much different color in the past but it seems as if that was always our color.

anyways, back to topic

I live in Davie and the Dolphins spend more time in Davie in one year than they spend in Miami in 5 years! Lets chill out with the whole Miami obsession. Doesn't make you any less of a fan if you aren't in Miami. Newsflash: most of the fans ARE from broward!

Ross should begin a fan relocation program whereby he moves hardcore fin fans (perhaps Finheaveners) from around the country to Miami, sets them up with the appropriate jobs, housing, etc.

Then that stadium will REALLY be rockin' on Sundays...

The reason half the fans have come from broward is because that is the market Huizenga targeted. You know when was the last time a billboard of the Dolphins was put up in Miami, years ago and I live 5 minutes from the Orange Bowl. This team is called the Miami Dolphins & when they were in the OB it would sell out every game. After Huizenga took the team to basically the Miami boarderline before it becomes Broward, all the broward fans started poring in.

All Im saying it is finally great to see the Fins being advertise in their home town. Like Ross said they are called the Miami Dolphins.

They stated they missed the deadline for 2010 on the uniform change. This tells me they have already decided to do it.

Look for a uniform change and possibly a color change in 2011.

Yikes! :(

Don't get me wrong, I am not against fans from Miami. But don't blame Huizenga for the reason Dolphin Stadium has been filled with Broward fans for years. It is almost like you are saying that they wouldn't be Dolphin fans if it wasn't for Wayne. That is so not the case. Broward fans, Collier County fans, and fans all over the world care about our fins just as much as we do. 80% of the fans that go to TC are from Broward, but obv. you are going to say it is because they live close.

This is a pointless discussion, because we are all on the same side...As long as our stadium is packed, I am all for it. It's not like I walk around the game asking people if they live in Miami, then proceed to give them dirty looks.
