Packers | Team might send Rodgers to NFL Europe
Sat, 10 Dec 2005 11:03:35 -0800

Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers may play in NFL Europe if QB Brett Favre decides to return next year. Rodgers has been getting increased time with the No. 1 offense on Wednesdays, a day Favre usually has off. Rodgers and QB Craig Nall originally had split reps evenly when Favre first started taking Wednesdays off. Lately, Rodgers has gotten about 75 percent of the time.

Never heard of a 1st rounder being sent to Europe before.

strange...

do you think we might send someone to Europe?..and who if u think so

probably Alabi and Vickerson to get them PT.

It's not a bad move to send Rodgers to NFLE. Get him some game experience outside of pre-season.

yeah PT is important especially for a young QB

A year in NFL europe would be more effective for him than anything else he could be doing. personally I think Aaron Rodgers is going to be a better player than Alex Smith of the niners, and Id like to see rodgers out on a field somewhere playing

hmm, that is odd to see an NFL team send their 1st round pick. I guess this means they are planning on keeping Favre for the 2006 season.

that's IF favre returns next year. this actually makes a ton of sense and i'm surprised no other team has thought of it (prbly a money thing)

Why not let him play now? they cant make the playoffs and Favre should be retired by now.

Because Farve is the second best QB in NFL history

and no he shouldnt be retired

the team just shouldnt be placing 100% of the pressure on him to produce

Because that would be a dumb move to make. Whenever you have a guy who plays hurt and a great leader to your team, you never bench him and let a rookie try to do that. This could be a smart move by the Packs because you don't want your QB to rust for two years.

I really doubt Favre would stick around for another year. He nearly retired this off-season and he had a horrid year this year. I think he just wants to end his career before it gets worse.

I'm not saying play him and expect miracles, just let him test the water. A baby has to learn to crawl and struggle to crawl at some point before he can actual walk around. As for Favre, whats the point? If they were in the playoff hunt, sure. But they're one of the worst teams in the league. 4 is a dying swan.

I hope he retires for the sake of his legacy. All these interceptions he throws now make me feel bad for him. He is only a shell of what he once was, a great QB.

farve is just chasing records at this point and i'm sure he'll come back next year to try to break dan's career touchdown passes. farve has 389 right now i think and if he finishes with about 395 as projected all he has to do is throw 25 td's next season to tie the record

Favre said he's not going to leave he said he'd alteast come back next year
