I hope the missed tackles were just because of the cold, although that is an indictment of this teams toughness.I read it was 20 missed tackles and 175 yards. I don't know how many yards in total GB finished with, but I'd guess that's about half of what they got?
Jacobs is a physical runner, who breaks tackles. Still, that is unacceptable. Especially at this point in the season when your team is "fighting" to get back into the playoff picture. It says a lot, unfortunately, about the mentality of the team.
You're absolutely spot on. As poorly as Miami played, the Dolphins definitely still could have been in this game. That goal line stand was the ultimate killer, as Miami could have potentially made it 27-19, but you pointed out a few others. Hard to start in that 7-0 hole.I hope the missed tackles were just because of the cold, although that is an indictment of this teams toughness.
This loss was so frustrating because we shot ourselves in the foot with penalties and other mistakes.
The muffed punt to start the game which really set the tone and had to be demoralizing. That cost us 7 points.
The sequence right before halftime we were close to FG range and had opportunities to convert a 3rd and 4 and 4th and 4 to keep the drive alive and kick a FG before halftime. Instead we failed and then gave up a FG before halftime. Thats a 6 point swing right there.
Then the goal line stand with about 10 minutes remaining in the game. We had 2nd and goal from the 1 and could not score. We have to do a better job there both in terms of play calling and execution. That cost us another 7 points.
Thats 20 combined points, minus 10 for them and plus 10 for us, that could have easily gone in our favor in a game we lost by 13 points.
