Better chance of us getting him. Merling is worthless to us, and if Quarless is in danger to get cut, they'll take Merling for him easy.
 
I'd take Quarless. He'd easily be the second best tight end on our roster. They have Jermichael Finley and D.J. Williams, and Tom Crabtree as a blocking specialist. Quarless is more of a pass catcher and yet they already have Finley and Williams, who are better pass catching threats. Tough for Andrew to find a role among that crowd.

Tom Silverstein is also saying that Ryan Grant may be cut, even though he's having a good training camp. I think if that happens the Dolphins should jump at it. Cut Larry Johnson immediately, make Ryan Grant be the guy that shares the load with Reggie Bush...let Daniel Thomas come along slowly.

i'd jump at ryan grant also if i was miami...no doubt..

I would love Ryan Grant. Reports have been that he looks fully healthy and looking real good out there. Why would the Packers cut him though?

I agree, especially about Grant. Why in the world would they cut him though?
 
Hum it going to be very interesting to see the plan. Lets just hope there is one and not another Ryan Mallett senario where everyone feels let down.

He's expensive. They gave him a big contract just before he started getting hurt and stuff (isn't that always the way?). They got by fine with James Starks, who is cheap, and now they have some other guys like Alex Green whom scouts are really high on, and John Kuhn/Brandon Saine, etc.

They may be thinking that with their passing attack, they run off the pass anyway and so they don't need to pay so much money to get effective running. Ryan Grant was a waiver wire pickup to begin with. I couldn't fault them on their logic if that was their rationale.

Incidentally, would be nice if the Dolphins could pick up DuJuan Harris off waivers, if Jax cut him.

said the same thing about a week ago regarding trading merling to gb for him. i would love to add quarless to our roster
