Had cornerbacks Travis Daniels and Will Poole been carting around two sets of golf clubs Friday, it wouldn’t have been so bad. But driving around the practice field with two sets on crutches in tow wasn’t quite as settling.

Indeed, the Dolphins have faced an early epidemic of injuries.

Poole joined a growing list of players unable to practice, as he had his surgically repaired left knee back in a brace Friday. Coach Nick Saban wouldn’t give details about the nature of the injury, but he said the team would continue to evaluate him.

Poole missed all of last season after tearing his ACL and undergoing surgery May 16, 2005. Daniels, as you probably already know, twisted his ankle during Wednesday’s practice.

Jason Taylor, Chris Chambers, Kelly Campbell and Seth McKinney also missed the workout. Chambers said he is suffering from a slight hamstring pull – nothing serious.

Anderson and Toledo also fell ill from the heat, and did not participate toward the end. Wide receiver Marty Booker is also limited after suffering what looked like a minor calf injury on an attempted catch Thursday.

That left three of the team’s top receivers sidelined, as well as three of the top guards. As a result, even guard Tony Pape was getting repetitions with the first team…

Football is a tough sport. Let's just hope our training staff knows what the hell they are doing!

its a good thing all those injuries are not serious

Welker, Hagan, and Cliff Russel are making catches so acrobatic it's riduculous, as well as Vick and Murphy. There's going to be some seriously tough cuts.

What would happen if it turns out that Cliff Russel is the 3rd best reciever on the team?

None of the injuries seem to be too terrible. Other than Poole's situation, which I would like to find out what's up there, I don't think any of the other injuries are anything worth being alarmed about relative to the players ability to contribute beginning with Regular season game #1.

Bumps, bruises, ankle twists.

If we had a regular season game in a week, they'd all play.
I hope you're right. I've got to assume that since Saban hasn't come out and said anything other than "day-to-day" that these injuries aren't too serious.

I hope they all heal quickly. The two that sound the most serious are Daniels and Poole. I hope they both heal quickly. They could be our future tandem!

I just hope this doesn't hurt Poole's chances of making the team. I'm really rooting for this guy.
