About Mario Williams struggling, and being a top draft pick, isn't that a bit of the pot calling the kettle black. How can a Miami newspaper have a stroy about how another teams 1st round pick is struggling when Miami's 1st round pick can't even get on the field. At least Mario Williams plays. Meanwhile It seems like in every game I watch there a rookie safety's not only on the field but making plays. The 2 on Buffalo (I think Whitner was like the defensive rookie of the Month) and there was one on New Orleans. First overall pick or not I just think it's laughable that the Palm Beach post is talking about another teams 1st rounders struggles while ours is still riding pine.

That makes 2 rookies starting in the houston D, the other is DeMeco Ryans who just happens to be leading all nfl rookies in tackles with 30.
Jason Allen is a tool.

Does Allen = Fletcher? They both held out for more money and never lived up to billing.

I think we should be waiting until he (J allen) has had the chance to learn and the nplay with the first team before labeling him as anything more than a rookie...

Hey guys... it's only been three games... settle down...

Give the poor kid a chance, he has the talent and speed, drive and desire, Saban is keeping him on the bench till he's ready. Would you rather put him in when he doesn't know the schemes well enough, have him (and us) get burned, then lose his confidence?

What's laughable is you comparing our mid round pick to the Texans passing by Reggie Bush to take a defensive end at number one overall. If you don't think Bush is contributing to the Saints 3-0 start you're kidding yourself. Jason Allen doesn't have to be a great player right away because he wasn't picked ahead of a player who was unanimously viewed as the best player in the draft.

I'm just copmparing 1st round picks. Apples to apples if you ask me. Furthermore, do you think Reggie Bush would have any effect of Houston's 32nd ranked defense. Probably not.

There's a long way between pick one and pick sixteen. I think Bush would have had an impact on Houston. If they need defense so bad that they don't want an impact offensive player then they pick Bush, trade him and go down a few picks lower, get their player and extra picks.

Would it be more accurate to compare the expectations of Joseph Addai (taken 30th overall) to Reggie Bush (2nd overall), or would it be more accurate to compare his expectations to Lendale White (taken in the 2nd round, 45th overall pick)? Here's a clue, the 45th selection is a whole lot closer to the 30th selection, than the 2nd overall pick is to the 30th overall selection.
