Palmer an option for QB next year???

He has good measurables and pedigree.. Why did he go to UTEP instead of a big school like USC?

I would consider him in the third.
 
I think our QB crop is solid. Joey/Daunte/Cleo, in no particular order. Let them fight for the Starting Job in Preseason and Training Camp. Give them all equal time with the Starting Offense. May the best man win.
 
I hope we draft a QB. I have little confidence that our current choices are going to get us where we want to go. Unless we want to go to mediocrity.
 
too many other holes to use a pick on a QB. not to mention its unlikely he would start his first year, we need to win now, not a 3 years from now.

Im hoping we have a 100 % Daunte next season cause ive seen a healthy Joey and im not liking what i see so far.So what we won 4 straight if our D didnt play the way it did during those 4 games we wouldnt have won any.Nm we would have beat the Lions but thats it.I think if we add a couple of good young players and having a healthy Daunte and Ricky back this team can be a playoff team.
 
lemon is better than harrington. he should get a chance this season. culpepper is the man for next year. how can you think hes done? you havent seen him play a healthy game in a fins uniform
 
with us out i say lets i say put daunte on IR and have him come back next year at 100%

take a look at his stats and tell me what you think.

IMO i believe we need to draft a qb sometime next year. I think culpepper is done, and being a harrington supporter...i'm starting to think he'll be a good backup for us.

I don't see the Dolphins drafting a QB next year. I think Saban will see how Culpepper peforms next year at hopefully 100% and then decide if he is the long term answer. If he is not, I could see them drafting a QB in the 2008 draft.
 
You can lump in the UTEP qb with those at Texas Tech, BYU and Hawaii, who also throw for 500 yards a game. Doesn't make them NFL quality QB's,....just like Chang of Hawaii a couple years ago with his record NCAA passing yardage...I don't think he was even drafted.
 
GOD NO!!!

This Guy has made stupid decisions at the worst times his entire career. His comp % isnt that good, he throws more INTs every year he plays and he ALWAYS chokes in the big pressure situations. I am a UCF fan and have watched a bunch of Palmer at UTEP. He SUCKS!

Agreed. I have no faith in Pep ever getting back to 100%.
 
I also agree. Our current crop of QBs is not taking us to the promised land, sorry. Joey and Cleo are backups-good backups, but backups. And Daunte is washed up. The guy was the beneficiary of a phenomenal offensive unit in Minny and has shown little of anything except a knack for turnovers the last few seasons. Not to mention his injury, which comes at a time that 9/10 times running QBs start to break down. Not to mention the guy just CANT READ A DEFENSE!! He showed absolutely nothing to warrant a roster spot this year. Yeah I know he played hurt, but he showed no ability to read or make a play, and just made poor decisions and held onto the ball to long.

QB is easily our biggest need right now. We need to go out and get our guy, whoever that may be. Enough is enough, im tired of taking other teams trash. Quinn would have been ideal, but since we likely played our way out of him, we should be looking at Brohm or Smith. Maybe Stanton or Russel in round 2. Its time to put our new Marino on the field-I dont care if it takes a year to get him ready, im TIRED of waiting years of plugging in QBs who dont work out.
