Pape Could Be Fined For No-Show

He better have a damn good excuse for being absent.....btw, does anybody happen to have a clue on what that excuse is?

I think Pape has a good idea he isn't making the squad. I would guess his agent is scouring other teams as to their interest when he gets cut.

Na, I think he is smarter than that. He did great in NFL Europe this year. He will probably spend another year on our PS, but he could have a shot to make the team in 2006.

I wouldn't have counted him out, he did pretty well in NFLE, and the best way for him to make another team is to get traded or cut, but he has to show up to the phins camp in order for that to happen, he needs to show others here that he can play.

I don't exactly consider our depth at tackle 'elite'. I'd expect him to be a lot more optimistic about making our squad as opposed to others.

Exactly. Not showing up is not going to help a marhinal player make another team very much.

But were not going to keep more than 4 tackles. Carey, McIntosh, McDougal, and St Clair are 99% locks. Pape hasn't been here at all during the offseason, he was "auditioning". Now I think he is "applying" for a new role somewhere because he knows he isn't going to get into this movie.

Blowing off the day to report isn't a good way to start that process for him.

I'm guessing we'll find out he missed a flight and that he's there for tomorrow.

I think he made NFL Europe's version of the pro bowl, he should not think he doesn't have a shot of making the team. Right now, I'd take him over Damion Cook.
