Parcells admits on some draft mistakes (Pat White)

The article also mentions a couple of "botched" OL picks...was Sparano with him when he blew those? Was it Tony's great advice that lead to those?
 
Makes sense if the article is from April. There's no way a team doesn't want the #1 overall now - with the cap on rookies, there's absolutely nothing stopping you even if you screw up. It's like an average bad FA pick - sure, it's a limitation, but a minor one.
 
Just because Parcells said it was a bad decision to draft White, does not mean that Ireland has no culpability in the process.

exactly what I have been saying. In fact parcells said he went from his normal principle that does not mean it wasnt ireland's idea to draft White. I was very disgusted by this pick but of course I was called a hater as usual.
its a disaster to draft someone high in the second that is not good enough to play anywhere in the nfl a season later

I agree. I think the only reason Parcells came to the Dolphins was to see how far he could bury the organization. Maybe he had something against Shula, I do not know.
 
nobody's pissed away more second rounders than the fins this past decade.

relative to his pick I guess u could say he was a bust. He was a good player that was drafted way too high. This draft was full of bad picks I wanted Aaron Rogers, Braylon Edwards or Derrick johnson . fav back in draft was benson

Man, I'm almost certain had Aaron Rodgers fell to the 2nd rd that Miami would have taken him. MIA ended up trading that 2nd (Reggie Brown) to PHI
