Don't shoot the messenger...besides I don't think its a huge deal since he doesn't seem to want to go anywhere anyhow...

however it may leave some without a feeling of security. I thought Armando Salguero reported that his out clause was more restrictive instead of less...

Fans would really like to know if that out clause precludes him from jumping to another team.

he said it himself "Where else would I go".
he's here for another year at least.
He wants to finish what he started.

Im secure regardless. The dolphins will still exist either way. I know Ireland and Sparano are not under that clause so im fine. If Parcells left there are other people out there that are knowledgable football guys. people act like Parcells is so far above any other football mind. None of the other teams he built won a super bowl so its not like he bats a 1000 outside of the superbowl giants.

You would think that WH did this with Ross's blessing ..and as their joint goodwill gesture of confidence in, and appreciation of BP - maybe even as a result of assurances from him that if treated well, he's not going anywhere.

That could be true, I personally think its bad from a business standpoint. Hopefully Ross does better as an owner than to do a contract like this in the first place.

why does this keep getting brought up? Bill Parcells isn't going anywhere ok...he's with us for at least another football season ok...after that, who knows...he's not going to leave Jeff&Tony hanging like that, plus he will probably stay with us until our Dolphins can/do consistently compete for a berth in the SB...i wish these reporters would just let this go...

What this likely means is that Parcells knows he is getting his four years of pay no matter when he leaves. He has the option to retire at any point and doesn't have a window any more. I expect this move was made because Parcells has the idea in mind that he is leaving sooner rather than later. If it was just a 30 day period, he may already be gone. This move probably keeps him through the end of season.

How can you say he will not leave Jeff/Tony like that. Parcells has always looked out for number one when he left. parcells will be here until he gets bored.

because he wants the job he does with the Dolphins to be the best part of his legacy...

There is a VERY GOOD chance that BP will leave after this season. He has stated that once he thinks that the FO is ready for life after BP...then he might leave.

It's just the way of business...BP will help this team this year.

If we make a playoff run again and fall short in the 1st round. I think he goes to another team that needs his insights to get back on track.

If the FINS make it past the 1st round...he sticks around for 1 more year.

If the Fins do no make the playoffs...CYA BP.

Either way...THANKS BP for giving this team HOPE once again!!!

I'm tired of this scenario being drawn out by the media. The man said he was f'n staying. Let it go. Mort should find something better to do than act like him and Parcells are seperated at birth. Jeff Ireland deserves much more credit than he gets b/c he wanted Jake when BP wanted Chris
