There really seems to be a divide amongst fans when it comes to support and/or criticism. Alot of fans appear to be critical about certain moves, while others want to silence any negative comments and root for the best. While I'm definately a huge supporter our franchise, I'm not alone when it comes to scrutinizing mistakes. Anyone watching ESPN yesterday probably saw each pick got an ESPN grade and a FANS grade. Why? Because its important for every franchise to understand how the moves they make are valued by the fans. Also, these days communities (via the internet) are much more involved in evaluating these talented players then ever. That doesnt make any Joe Schmo a pro scout. But you'd be suprised how much the average fan knows about small schools, combines, size, speed etc.
The guy who asks people to stop criticizing, has said the same thing during Cam/Mueller, Saban, Wanny/Spiellman. He's the guy who forever thought Culpepper would eventually pan out. Fans actually do have to hold their franchise/general manager accountable for their mistakes. If you dont, you end up with Matt Millen (detroit) who somehow still has a job after being the WORST general manger ever.
Personally I think the most important thing for an NFL franchise is to consistantly draft players who will contribute to your team for 4+ years. We really struggle at this. Obviously since we've gone through multiple regimes it has hurt us. One of the best franchises in the league is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I want to show a comparison from 2002-2004.

In todays salary cap league, it is not easy to land players (via the draft) that will play 4+ years for your franchise. However when you compare Miami's 2 players to Pittsburgh's 9 it really starts to show a trend. You build a winning franchise through the draft.
This is why the NFL draft has the type of coverage and criticisim that we see. It can truely make or break your franchise.
