Parcell's first pick hardly stellar

What a stupid article, so we take V.Gholston and he turns out to be a bust and J.Long anchors someone else's line for 10 years he'd be writing how stupid we were for not taking a stud LT. BP's splash will be a gatorade bath for TS 4-5 years from now in the superbowl.

This is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read.

The pick was boring? Was Joe Thomas boring for Cleveland last year? He was a big factor in that team going 10-6. IMO, a solid OL can make all of your skill positions better.

The pick was possibly a mistake? What a news flash!!!!! What an idiot.

I couldnt make it past the first paragraph.. "If Long winds up being Sam Bowie and either Vernon Gholston, Glenn Dorsey, Chris Long or Matt Ryan winds up being Michael Jordan, how bad will the stain on Bill Parcells’ legacy be?"

OK genius, and if Long ends up being like Orlando Pace and either Vernon Gholston, Glenn Dorsey, Chris Long or Matt Ryan winds up being Tony Mandarich, how bad will the stain on Bill Parcells' legacy be?

What a loser this guy is! I can almost garuantee if we took any of the above mentioned he would be writing the exact same article but substituting the names.

Where did he get his jounalstic integrity, Siberia!

Very stupid writer!

Bad writing style with no substance in the article. He seems to have a man crush on Matt Ryan.

Tom Curran is a typical Northeast writer.....he probably wears NY Jets' pajamas to bed. His "what if" scenarios are just that....a lot of speculation. Yeah, drafting a o-lineman may be dull, but these dull picks win SB's.

Every dumb word in that article could have been written a month ago, with a small change here and there for position and player name. What a load of garbage. Had he analytically critiqued Jake Long's ability to play LT, I would have been mildly interested. That his beef is that it isn't an exciting pick to rebuild a football team around is throughly dismantled by a fellow writer on the same site:

http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/24261313/site/21683474/

Parcells' new project, the Dolphins, needs help everywhere. But they particularly need it on the offensive line. And when you’re pretty much building a team from scratch, you start with the foundation. And that’s the left tackle.

Long was a dominant college lineman for Michigan in the Big Ten, a conference known for great offensive linemen. In his entire college career, he was called for two penalties and gave up two sacks, and everybody says he’s the goods.

That article was awefull. It was basically an article to poke fun at the Dolphins. Whats to say any of those other guys are gunna be more successful than Jake??

Its too bad the site doesnt allow comments on the articles.. He'd be out of a job if they did.. Good way to protect yourself from scrutiny Cuman.. Maybe you should listen to it, it may turn into a tolerable writer, doubt it though, with an intelligence level that matches that of a knat, you have no hope!

What a knothead!! Like we are going to pick based and I quote "sexy splash effect" and not NEED. The guy makes about as much sense as a $3 bill. Dead from the neck up. Like many of you have mentioned before, we lost many games last year by a few points. Looking forward to this season.
I bet we shock a lot of people with the Ricky & Ronnie freight train run attack.

And it seemed he was making an issue that we didnt wait 4 more days. Whats the difference?? We had the last 3 months to analys draft talent. Were we gunna change our mind in the next 4 days? No way...What an idot!!!

This is all I need to see on this story to know just how bad it really is.

It wouldnt update after mine so with my vote it is 1 by 31 users and probably [edit]COUNTING.

i didn't read it but i know what it would be about.

just like how kiper and mcshay said there was "no doubt" we took matt ryan

first off, no. O-line is a need and if we protect Beck he will make plays
second, no. McShay and Kiper are tools who should not be in sports analysis.
