Parcells making his presence felt

That's what BP does.He never gives anyone an inch and he isn't doing anything in Miami he wouldn't do anywhere else. After a 1-15 season I think he might be just what we need.

IMO, this is just one of the many things that's makes this coaching and FO staff the best we've seen since Shula was here,

The Dolphins -- who don't have an accomplished veteran guard to play opposite Smiley -- rejected overtures from ex-Dolphin Jeno James (out of the league last year) and haven't returned calls from unsigned Chris Liwienski's agent.

It seems to me these type of players are why we haven't been a competitive team. Our previous coaches would make these type of players our starters. The new staff seems to know better.

Awesome quotes:

This is the way you turn around a football team.

Crowder said, ''At first, everybody was kind of on edge because of the changes. Now, there's more excitement and everybody is more motivated. People are competing now and trying to better each other. Before, it was lackluster and cruising through it.'' Jason Allen concurred, saying, ``Guys are not settling for being mediocre. [That message] comes from the top on down.''

There is a fear of consequences, too. ''You are not going to do anything [wrong] because you know [Parcells] is a hard-nosed guy,'' Crowder said. ``And Sparano is a no-nonsense guy. You don't want to be the guy they make an example out of.''

This is what you get when you put the penultimate "Alpha Male" among other Alpha Males (to get to this level of athlete you have to be one). They recognize the top dog, and submit to him. Its an age old story.

In days past, Parcells would have been the General in the Roman Army, who inspires his men to storm Rome and declare him Emperor. ;)

Well I like our chances with Parcells, about time someone came into Miami and got these turds working hard... probably better then JJ and just as good as the Don was.

The finishing touch would be to bring in Dan Marino as the QB coach...

My husband mentioned Marino as a quarterback coach as well,I wonder if he would actually do it.He would be awesome as a quarterback coach,damn...who better to learn from than Dan the Man?think of how much he could help Henne and Beck.

players need more than m illions of dollars to perform at their top level these days. it's sad - cam didn't have the marbles to command respect - and look what happened. parcells knows what's up.

It all starts in the weight room. I'm just glad this team won't be sucking wind in the early 4th quarter like they were for so much of 2007.

That explains a lot about last year and why Cam isn't around anymore. Players were just cruising through the workouts and were not in condition. Good to know this will not be the case this year.

The article reminds me of when Parcells got hired and he took in the practice the week of the Bengals game and guys were saying things like "with Parcells on the sidelines, you definitely pick up your step and your intensity a bit." And I remember thinking, they aren't doing that for Cam Cameron? Why can't he get them to practice hard?

Well, I guess they weren't training too hard to begin with. What a joke it was. :rolleyes2:

The article clearly shows how bad of a coach/motivator Cam Cameron really was. You gotta give Wayne H. credit for bringing Parcells in.

After the first game against the Redskins last year I went ballistic on this board. I started threads stating that there is absolutely no excuse why we were so out of shape in that game. It was ridiculous how by mid 2nd quarter the dolphins were huffing and puffing more than any opening game I have ever witnessed.

The responses I was getting in those threads were ridiculous to say the least.. Over 80% of the responses were Cam Cameron apologists, people giving Cameron way too much of the benefit of the doubt.. People saying that he knew what he was doing.. Trying to tell me that you can't overwork players too much and that they need rest. Blah Blah Blah meh !

My responses were BULL CRAP, We have a WHOLE OFFSEASON to get in shape ! What were these millionaires doing? attending country club meetings ?? . Heck I remember getting a warning from a mod because I was so infuriated with the responses by my fellow phin fans..

Fast-forward a year later and look what we have here.. We have Bill Parcells patrolling the weight room and making these guys run hard, in April mind you. THIS IS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT IN SEPTEMBER RIGHT AFTER THE REDSKINS GAME ! We have Bill Parcells patrolling the training facility like a sheriff wielding his baton getting these players in the best shape of their lives like a boot camp.,. This is awesome. What a difference

Like I said back then, there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE to have players out of shape. These guys are professional athletes for goodness sakes.. Being in shape is the ABSOLUTE Minimum we should expect as fans and from our coaching staff !

I am so happy to read this story today.. We may or may not beat the Jets on opening day. But let me tell you something my dear dolfans, the Jets better be prepared for a 4 quarter WAR !

The guys wearing aqua and orange on opening day in 2008 won't be the same out of shape lackadaisical wusses on opening day in 2007. We are going to come to play and knock some heads around. Run around you and through you til the final whistle in the 4th quarter.

Totally Grey...this is what needs to happen if the Dolphins want to be contenders this year.Any player in the NFL who is anyone works out in the off season....next season creeps around faster than you might think and you are in deep trouble if you show up out of shape for training camp. This clearly won't be the case this year for the Dolphins with BP
