DA M.I.A IS WHERE I STAY
Except for the secondary position,we're sitting pretty for 2008.Parcells filled the LB,the DT/NT position and the DE was already kinda full, but he depthed it up.
Look for Jake Long to be the first pick.I really doub t Parcells going Defense first, considering we went Defense in FA.Our offensive line really needs help, and Jake Long is the top propect OT.People keep saying he is a RT?I wonder, how do you come up with that conclusion? He played RT in college as much as he played left tackle...two years, each. And guess what,he only let one player side on each side. So,I don't really know how you can just up and say he is a RT.He solidified his places in the top 3 after the combine aswell. He doesn't play lopsided on either side.
My guess to why people keep saying he is a RT,is to make other people think he shouldn't get taken number one,so everyone can agree on taking that persons pick, most of the time Chris Long.
But why Chris?Chris is having concerns with playing in coverage. Now I ask,why take a player that has question on being one-dimensional,when you can have a player that can play any position on the line,is beyond me.....
Jake will actually fill a position and has the skills to start right now.Whereas Chris's position is already full...so why stuff a box that can't occpy no more?
Jake and Matt Ryan are the only sensible picks.
Now,Parcells asking Beck to buck up(bulk up) tells me something....if he didn't want Beck, then he wouldn't bother asking him to man up.So....Ryan is like 30% to Jakes 70%...I think thats about fair.
Also to say to all...EVEN if Jake is a RT(which I think is highly unfair to the young man).....Sparano was a former O-Line coach and our current O-Line coach can make him into a LT before the season started. He already prven he isn't intimidated by playing on either sides, and projecting him as one positon without giving him consideration of playing the other is really unfair. With that said,Jake Long is the most sensible pick as of right now, unless MIA signs a young,un the rise talented LT(which is not going to happen).
Personally,if you want Chris Long....just wait for the 2nd round.MIA will draft OLB/DE Shawn Crable...this man is Parcells approved anyday.6'5",245 and runs a 4.65.You guys should want him more than Chris.Crable,in my eyes,is the next Shawn Merriman. He is young, aggressive and horrifying blitzer and makes plays behind the LOS(Lines of Scrimming).
My Projection(keep in mind, all we need now on Defense is DB's) On Draft:
1:Jake Long(LT)
