Parcells sees production in Ricky 2008

No much of a brainer the guy has the talent, its his head thats need to get into football and stay off the crap.I really hope he changed.
 
IMO you all should cut ties with Ricky.

I agree he is cheap and has talent left in the tank, but IMO he has done this team to much wrong to keep giving chances to the guy.
 
well, considering what they are paying him, it's not much of a gamble. with that low of a cap number, there is no loss if they have to cut him later. that said, I hope he can at least return to some of his former glory!

Yea, but the way running backs go down you never can have to much talent at that position. We already have him, and we extended his contract. We need to focus on other areas that need help

Nope. All he did was exercise the team option to keep him under contract. Otherwise ricky's contract would have been up. There was no "extension". It's the same contract.

That I understand but looking at the roster

Brown - may or may not be back 100% got that
Chatman- showed he can be the back up
Booker - spent a pick on and IMO did not get a good shot there last year
Gado - will probably be cut

So were does Ricky fit- obviously he got extended. But IMO because of what he has done to this team will be below Gado and have to work his way up. So that says between Ricky, Booker and Chatman WHO will be the ODD man out.

I do not see you carrying 4 RBs.

Personally I would love it if we could trade him for a bag of peanuts. Barring that he's cheap labor.

I think a better word than "production" would be "value." Whether it's to play him or trade him, the new guys will assess his value and act based on that. It's presumptuous to assume the contract was renewed because they think he will be "productive" for us in 2008.

well we will keep ricky. he will be the back up and see a good amount of carries. we dont know how well ronnie will be at the begining of the year. ricky would be a great CHEAP backup. and for us carrying 4 RB's. your right gado is probably gone but lorenzo booker will be used in the passing game as a slot reciever or a screen receiver. so therefore we do have four RB on roster but 1 is really slot WR

OK I can understand that. But IMO you are robbing one of your weaker positions (WR) to keep an extra RB on the team. If you really think about it you still use a true FB as well.

So tied up in the backfield alone would be 5 of the 52 slots.

i havent seen much but reagan muia* (how ever he spells his name) is a decent FB. i just dont see us getting ride of a guy with that much talent who is playing for so cheap unless we get a good pick out of him
