Parcells to Browns rumors: Holmgren

I hope it happens (Holmgren to the Browns) I don't really like seeing any franchise play just awful, unless it's one in our division.

Parcells is going nowhere is my guess. No one knows Parcells and he doesn't talk but he is in South Florida in the middle of a rebuild making a lot of money. Ross is very hands off in the football operation which for me, is ideal. Not to mention these are his boys that are coaching and managing his team and no doubt he spends his days in the film room with him.

IMO he is happy right where he is at and will stay until he says good bye to the game.

What's up with Holmgren getting 8-10 mil a year for that gig? Wow, talk about overpaying! Parcells is making "only" 4 mil per. Maybe we need to give Bill a raise! LOL!

Well Mike at least you are going to get a lot of money to fail. Cleveland is a Jinx the entire town is a curse and no body will win there!

The thing is, if Holmgren is getting $8-10 million a year as a VP of Football Operations, Parcells could EASILY get that from most any team in the league. Parcells, unlike Holmgren, is a proven commodity in the VP role and any team looking for a quick turnaround will likely target him.

I do think Parcells will return for a third year with the Dolphins, but I think it is going to take some sort of new deal from Ross to keep him here. Ross is probably going to have to up his 2010 salary from $4 million to at least $6-7 million.

Ross has billions of dollars, give Parcells some "pocket change" and he could make exponentially more in return.

If Parcells leaves for more money, i will be extremely pissed.

im pretty sure parcells said hes not interested in money any more.. he has made enough money to last him for the rest of his life.

Im pretty sure i read that in an article...

Odd choice for the title of this thread. 8-10 million for Holmgren who failed being a GM and coach in Seattle. Kiick72 you called it, that is way overpaying for him. The odd thing is the Browns seem very committed to Mangini, you think they would over pay to help them get a Holmgren disciple as a head coach, but I do not think they will let him fire Mangini.

I think that is a huge reason for Parcels to stay in Miami. He has his whole coaching staff from Dallas in Miami. He would be hard pressed to to find a team that would let him hire a whole staff, and to be able to find a whole staff that has worked for him, and is not currently employed.

Well if the Walrus is able to pul 8-10 million, then Parcells is going to want more. It isn't about how much money he has already it is about ego. These guys hate to be out done, I know this much if his contract is renegotiated I sure as hell hope that stupid exit clause is removed!

8-10 mil for a guy with Holgrens track record in the draft???? No wonder the Browns are absolutely god awful!

Cleveland is where coaches go to die.

True, but I hope they can improve enough to keep the other three teams in the division from running over them for easy wins. We need Pitt and Balt to take some lumps and losses consistently from Cleveland.
