It is obvious to many that Sparano made many questionable pre game and in game decisions, this includes player inactives, personnel groupings on 3rd downs, special teams personnel, and play calling.

This signals to me that Parcells gave Sparano the freedom a HC wants to have under this type of management structure. But you can bet the ranch Parcells will reel Sparano and his coaching staff in this week.

Parcells will pull a Jerry Jones on Sparano, he wont allow the same stupid mistakes to happen again.

Often times, senior execs allow their protege's a little extra room to fail early on as a mini lesson to humble the newly appointed manager...in this case, the new HC. Parcells will now tighten the strings on Sparano, and be much more active in his mentoring this young HC, and he needs it.

Miami will undoubtedly display the personnel groupings, play calling, etc that we were all expecting on opening day. Fins will look better, but the lack of talent and youth will prevail again.

If Parcells is pulling strings Sparano will never be successful. Obviously they will talk but BP has to allow Sparano to coach or else he'll never develop into a good coach.

there's no doubt Sparano is hearing about his mistakes this week. he's not a puppet, but he's not running this show either and everyone knows it. having BP around will help though. not only did he see the bad decisions on Sunday, he knows how to correct them. too bad Cam didn't have this luxury.

Agreed. Although I do think there is some behind the scenes "advice" Parcells will give Sparano. You can equate that to "involuntary workouts". Sparano is learning OTJ. I give the Jets credit, they played well enough to win. Sparano will be a good headcoach in time.

I'm not sure about pulling puppet strings, but there's got to be better personel groupings than Camarillo and two TE's and Bess and two TE's. I was a little dissapointed Hagan didn't get more time. Arizona looked pretty good against San Fran, so I can understand being a 7 point road dog.

agree with nyjunk 100% and I think Parcells knows he has to let the head coach become a head coach. we're going to have some growing pains this year anyway you slice it.

Parcells isn't going to do anything of the kind. It's obvious where the corrections are. There is an panic attack setting after one week. Parcells didn't select guys in key positions so he can babysit them.

Parcells will give no more or less advice as he has upto now.

Closet Dolphins fan :d-day: Welcome aboard!!

Good Grief people, it's his first frickin' game! We're not talking about Cam here, this guy IS a real football coach.

Let's not be alarmist's already!

I do not agree with the premise of your statements - that there were poor coaching decisions. Nor do I agree with the notion that Parcels and Sporano work that way before during or after this game. Its absurd to think that Parcels will be reactive to this coach, especially from the aftermath of such a close hard fought game!

Where do some people come from? And don't tell me their mothers!

Nor do I agree with your prediction that the Dolphins will lose.

I don't know what to make out of BP in GM gig; he DID turn the Jets around, but at the cost of strapped salary cap. I would love to see him at the sideline, but I don't know if I would ever want to see him as a GM - much less, VP of the operation.
