Part 2 of Harrington interview

I really enjoyed reading the articles. I've never been a fan of Harrington but I have to say I am more willing to give him a shot now after reading this. I like how he takes the high road on things. I wish him the best and hopes he makes reality on his potential.

After reading this article, I must say that Harrington is a class act all the way. Even going through all that craziness in detroit, he hasn't bashed that city our team which in my opinion he has every right to. I am not a fan of him at all, but i really wish luck with the Phins.

I really enjoyed those articles. Very rare for a football player to give that in depth of an interview. I liked that he was able to tell the truth, but without bad mouthing the entire organization. That's hard to do when you're talking about the Lions.

Both Part I and Part II are very interesting.

Classy guy, lousy QB. Hopefully, the new environment will do his QB play some good.

Lord knows Saban won't accept mediocrity!

I just finished reading both articles, and It gives you a lot of perspective about how things were for him in the past. It also tells me that he wants to be a particpant in an offense that isn't afraid to let loose sometimes.

Great opportunity for Joey to rebuild his confidence, and his reputation in Miami. I beleive he's signed for 2 years?

Detroit was a mess from the top down, and when they were able to give Joey a running game, he had a solid year. I think he's going to come in and run our offense just fine.

Absolutely caps off a great offseason.

New England is definetly looking over its shoulder now!

I think part of the reason that he makes a lousy QB is because he such a nice guy.. He also has this mentality where he wants to please everyone.. That doesnt work well when you are in a position of leadership. I have faith that Saban can use some of his masterful sports psychology to get Harrington to improve the mental aspects of his game.

Y'know people in San Fransisco weren't too sure about Steve Young when he came there after all those horrible years in Tampa . . . Let's give this guy the benefit of the doubt. I say Harrington will be killer here, till DC gets up to speed, then if we trade him we'll get far better than we gave up for him.

Welcome to PhinLand Joey!

In Saban We Trust!

That is abolsutely not true. You're basically saying that someone has to be a jerk in order to lead. Look, you can be the nicest, greatest person in the world and still lead effectively. And just because you're a nice guy it does mean you want to please everybody. There is a difference there. I do agree that the attitude of pleasing everybody doesn't work in a leadership role but you're not automatiaclly like that just 'cause you're a nice guy.

I don't think anyone in that organization is capable of pulling it back to a respectable level. It's hosed from every aspect. And to say that Joey couldn't save it because he was too nice....well that's just absurd.

I gotta be honest, I never really knew what Joey was all about. I do remember 2 seasons ago when the Lions were playing the Vikings. They were losing the game and then they came back. They had a shot to win it with a Field Goal and they missed and lost the game. The post-conference interview. Joey was so frustrated with the way things had been going he started breaking down. That shows what type of person he is. Someone who lays everything on the line when he's on and off the field. I've seen Joey make some bad plays and some good plays. I'm really happy to have someone of his character with the Dolphins. He reminds me of how good of a person Sage was when he was here. Those two players' personalities seem similiar IMO. Moreover, I think we'll be in good hands if Daunte doesn't start for the season. Joey is a smart guy and will be able to manage this type of offense.

But the reason he is "nice" is because he wants so damn hard to please everyone.. A leader CANNOT please everyone every time. A leader must lead, and that means showing assertiveness and occasionally ruffling some feathers a long the way.
